Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Gulfport

If I could give this place a zero, I would. My family and I arrived in Gulfport last Monday around 10:30 pm. We stopped by this Applebees because we didn’t want fast food. We were immediately greeted with disrespect and unwelcome by Feather, the bartender whose response was “seven people at 10:30”. Feather proceeded to tell us that she would not be making us drinks because “ the bar was closed “…. Feather also told the waitress Not to push any tables together and to seat us at individual tables even though we were a family and requested to sit together. This shouldn’t have been a problem as the restaurant was 95% empty. Thankfully the waitress was kind and didn’t listen to her , and seated us together anyway. To add insult to injury Two individuals came in after us and Feather turned the bar chairs around and began to serve the two individuals multiple rounds of drinks after specifically telling myself and my family “ the bar was closed “. Due to Feather’s unwelcoming, unprofessional treatment I requested to speak with a manager. At this point a guy named Doug who had been sitting in the corner along with Feature and the two individuals, encouraging her behavior towards us came over and stated he was the manager. As I explained what had occurred and asked him why we were being treated in such a manner Doug just shrugged his shoulders. He even went as far as to say that the Two individuals that came in after us were probably regulars, and then went back over and sat down. Not once did Doug try to resolve the situation, Not once did he even try to assist with getting our orders taken to speed up the process, Not once did Doug offer to make our drinks since he is a Manager, Not once did Doug come back to our table to offer an apology or explanation for Feature’s behavior or even try to see if we had gotten our food. My niece who’s graduating we were celebrating was in tears . Im just so disheartened and hope whoever is reading this will take time to speak to Doug and Feature so that no one else is made to feel unwelcome in this establishment. Our waitress Desha and another young lady who was busting tables we very kindly and apologetic. I did speak with a gentleman named Keith after calling customer relationship, who also promised to send me a “Be our guest card “that I never received . We had visited this location before years ago before moving Nd the experience was lacking but on our most recent visit home we decided to give it another try... our 1st turn off was the dark parking lot but since I was with the hubby I knew it would be ok and we got lucky and found a spot that had light from the neighboring business.... We were greeted quickly and sat and our server came over surprisingly fast ( only 4 other tables plus a small crowd at bar ) she was helpful pleasant and attentive until we recieved our meal and then we were almost rushed to finish the appetizer because she wanted to go ahead and take the plate she came around once more to check to see if we needed carryout ( I was literally in mid bite) and hubby was dressing his burger with condiments we ordered another beverage and after which we sat for almost 2 hours waiting on our check after completing our meal... plates and napkins snacked high and at the edge of the table, constant passes from hostess, another server, even the manager who came to adjust the temp control that was right behind my chair, as well as constant glances nod and smiles from the bartender but our server forgot about us.... we watched the restaurant fill up and empty as we sat watching our server do everything but check on us... finally got the attention of the bartender when she wondered if we had been checked on ( this was after her break she took to chat with her friends while noticed that we had been there for a while )... Server rushed over dropped the ticket off and left AGAIN leaving us to wait for her 30 min return and then she took the time to put in an order before returning with our receipt but had the audacity to stand and wait for me to sign it.... I did explain to her that we usually do tip but this experience was bad and you know you forgot about us and then had the nerve to make me wait another 45 min so you could catch your breath.... no... Food was good for burgers and frys... wings were my craving and they always have the 1.00 PBR... which we had planned on indulging in but never got a...

We visited this location on 5/14/2024. When we stepped through the door we were greeted and the host took us to our table. Our waiter name was Norman aka Monty. Monty was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, great, awesome, down to earth, relatable, funny and very respectful. He made our experience great. Also, the manager Scarleet was working the floor, walking around checking on tables, asking how everyone was doing and asking about the service that was provided. That alone made the experience great also, because I rarely see managers walking the floor, working the floor and check on customers, here on the Coast. The staff was very friendly, respectful and awesome (They even were asking how we were doing and told us to have a great day upon leaving)! The business was super clean and the food was on point. Now let's talk about the food! I really don't care for Applebee's food at all, but this location, the waiter, the manager and the food changed my mind. My wife and I had the southwest chicken bowls and our daughter had the bourbon street chicken and shrimp. I only have one photo of the SW chicken bowl, sorry! But the food was delicious, wonderful, seasoned well, cooked to perfection and our food was fresh when we received it. The serving portion of each dish was a nice size and we had enough for leftovers. I know there's a few bad reviews, however visit the location for yourself and you judge based off of your experience. I would highly recommend this location! Thank you for the awesome food, service and experience to the whole staff and crew at Applebee's! We will definitely be a regular!
