Hibachi Express — Restaurant in Gulfport

Our food was delicious but due to the waitress we will probably never be back. We reserved the party room for lunch and there was 10 of us-6 adults, 4 kids. From the time Our waitress walked in she was frazzled and complained about everything. We showed up 20 minutes early, apologized and let them know we didn’t mind waiting. We were assured the room was ready and all was well. It took a little while for the waitress to come in which was fine but she came through the door complaining about the hostess not telling her we were there. We walked past her on the way to the party room. We asked for menus and she started complaining about the hostess again saying they should have been on the table. She was passive aggressive and rude. While we did have an appetizer and sushi, our reservation was for 1:30, it was almost 3:00 before we had our chef come in. About 2:45 I walked around the restaurant, there was one other table. Tbh our chef was awesome! He was entertaining and the food was great. However we had 2 meals missing. 2 people at our table didn’t get served at all and 1 person never got her noodles she ordered separately. We went over our order 3 times with the server. I go to speak with her and she proceeds to argue with me about what was ordered. Thankfully the chef cooked for the adult missing her food and we just shared with the child who was missing hers. After the chef left, we were inquiring about the tips for her and the chef. She said we could tip him if we wanted to but she would be instructed by the owner to go take it from him as it was supposed to be hers. She also said that the gratuity added to the check was split between her and him. Kind of confusing. We doubled the tip as we wanted to take care of the chef. I called a month in advance & reserved for 20 guests for a wedding dinner. I called back twice to double check and remind them that we were still coming. Our party was there on time & they wouldn't sit them. We were 30min behind because of wedding pix and the wedding starting a little late. Then it took an hour for js to get drinks, while other restaurant guests that came after us were seated and fed well before any of us. We were there for 2hrs before getting a cook, so we were all sweating and the kids were screaming because it was so hot. My husband flipped their grill fans on and it was much better. I, the bride, had to have my chicken cooked in the back because I'm allergic to shellfish, this ended up being a big deal. I never got my chicken until my food was cold and everyone else was either finished or almost finished eating. I then had to ask for sauce from another cook. They kept telling us happy birthday lol So it's like they never even let the staff know this was our wedding dinner... i had family leave and go somewhere else to eat because of how horrible the experience was. I never even got to eat my meal. We've been going here for years and always had a good experience, but after they pretty much ruined our entire dinner, nobody that went will ever...

PLEASE DO NOT ORDER HERE IF YOU ARE FROM OUT OF TOWN!!! We are from out of town and found the restaurant on Apple Maps as a nearby restaurant. I called the number from the app. We spent over a $100 for food in my opinion is over priced but hey. Called and the lady answering the phone didn’t know much and was asking somebody else about the questions I was having. Long story short we do not eat shrimps and the meal came with them. Not on the side as an appetizer should but right in the middle of the food. Now mind you I’ve never looked at the menu and just called in. I called back that night to address my issues but no answering. I came to the restaurant the next day and the “manager” on duty supposedly called the “owner” who was there last night and they did absolutely nothing!!! Now I was trying to necessary get my money back another meal without shrimps would’ve did the job. The “manager” was simply the host said that we’ll the girls have some many orders that they don’t know who is out of town as if that mattered. When the lady read my order back she could’ve simply said shrimps come in as an appetizer. I spent a lot of money just to put the order in the garbage. Lesson learned!!! We had two different orders for two families they didn’t order...
