Visited for the first time a couple of days ago. Love the location, which is right in the heart of Downtown GP. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. Nice staff, Halloween spirit in evidence, with decorations on the bar at the front. I went during lunch and the place was packed. Plenty of seating - open tables, small and large booths. I like the exposed brick and some of the other "old world" touches in the decor. I had the lunch special, which is a pretty good deal at $9.95, for 2 slices and a large salad. The salad dressing was tasty, the vegetables very fresh. The pizza was underwhelming, though. The slices were smaller than I expected, and the dough was under-baked, almost raw. I sent the slices back for a do-over, but they were only slightly better the second time. The pepperoni, cheese, and sauce were all fresh and delicious, but I expect a brick oven pizza to be crisp and crunchy, so I'm still confused about that. The service was excellent - personable, professional, and no attitude when I sent my initial order back. I'll give Tony's another chance, especially since there really isn't much good pizza around the area.

We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. There were several tables occupied but it wasn't crowded. The young lady came over introduced herself and took our drink orders while we looked over the menu. We ordered and it wasn't too long before the appetizer, baked garlic with cheese and focaccia bread, came over. It smelled amazing but the garlic wasn't quite cooked enough. I guess I could have sent it back but it wasn't worth the trouble. We also split a "small" salad and it was plenty enough to share. The pizza was delicious. The crust was perfect, I would have liked a little more seasoning in the sauce, but that's a personal opinion, your tastes may differ. The brick oven at the back of the restaurant was fun to watch, there was a young man hand stretching dough and tossing it in the air. The only suggestion I have for the owner/manager is please do a deep clean in the dinning room. There's dust on the chains and lampshades and a few other places like air ducts over the tables. I understand staffing is always an issue, but it's worth the over time.

Hard to say which was worse, pizza or the service. Local pizza places like this must at least serve a better product that the likes of dominoes or the hut. This place didn't. Brick ovens's usually are hotter and can be a challenge to get a pizza done on top and not burned on the bottom. Tony's certainly didn't have their technique down during my visit. The crust was heavy and hard. Too thick be be that hard, was more of a biscotti texture than a regular crust. The toppings we're ok, but not nearly enough cheese or sauce. This left the top dry and tasting almost undercooked but the crust thick and tough. Thinner crust might have solved this. The service at the bar was pretty horrible though. Merry go round server , changed several times. The bartender was brusqe , verging on rude and frankly quite rude to the wait staff. The special on the board was pizza with Sam Adams Octoberfest. The were out of the Octoberfest..... With no other substitution mentioned. This is simply no a place to go out of your way for.

My family and I visited this location in Gulfport over the weekend. My husband and I have gone to this location many times over the years, and the service and food were always superb. However, this last visit was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! We had a large party of 6, and the only seating was in the front door, which was the first disappointment. There was a short wait to place our order, but our waitress was polite and attentive. We ordered 3 pizzas and 2 orders of mozzarella sticks. The appetizers came out in a timely fashion and were ok, but nothing like they used to be. The flavor was not the same. I noticed another party that came in after us had already been served their 2 pizzas. I mentioned this to my husband, and he agreed we had been waiting a while. I also noticed 3 pizzas sitting off to the side in the brick oven. After about a 30-minute wait, we received our 3 pizzas hot out the oven with the smell of burned crust and nothing to pick them up with. Once we received the proper utensils, we proceeded to eat. Everyone noticed a few bites in that the crust on all 3 pizzas were burned. This was a huge shock because we had never had issues with the food at this location. My husband asked the manager to charge us only for the drinks and appetizers as the pizzas weren't edible. He started out trying to say this is how brick oven pizza comes out. After we informed him we've eaten here many times and know what it should taste like, he changed his response. He said he couldn't remove the charge, but he would comp us 50% off one pizza. SERIOUSLY? He eventually agreed not to charge us for the burned pizzas. It was clear to anyone on looking that we hadn't begun to eat more than a few bites from multiple pieces. Not only was the crust burned, but my pepperoni pizza was gummy on one end. We traveled almost 2 hours to allow family from Georgia and South Carolina to enjoy Tony's as we have many times in the past. It was their first time visiting, but it left a lasting negative impression. Lastly, the ladies' room could use a good cleaning. The restroom fixtures are full of dust and spiderwebs, and the floors are always sticky...

This posting is only to ascertain my take out experience on November 26, 2022. This is a brief synopsis of my encounter. As I know it is the holiday season; however, there are things that are expected when individuals patronize an establishment, especially food. This is not about taste as taste is subjective, this is about quality and giving individuals what they paid for. After I made my order via phone I was present in less than ten minutes and my order was already ready. The presentation of the order was horrendous as it was cold, old, definitely not fresh as all of these assertations were revealed when I arrived back. As a consumer I feel cheated to receive such a low quality product but paid well over its value. The only positive thing about this encounter was my order taker, Kayla. She was very pleasant. At this moment I know that all places will have these type of days as I am pretty aware this is not indicative of this business as the ratings are pretty high. This was a very dismal experience to have the items thrown together and then be charged such an asinine charge. Leaving reviews only give others an option and also a judgmental call from yourself to others. When you patronize an establishment and are unsatisfied for whatever reason, you just rationalize your experience and...
