Around the start of covid they changed some stuff around. They changed the packaging thereby reducing portion. The little takeout white sauce cups they increased in size (employees claim twice the size of old cups) when you ask for more the employees nag saying "they're now twice the size they were before". At my previous visit I had ordered for 3 people and asked for 4 more white sauce, the employee again reminded me "they're now twice the size they were before". I told the employee that's fine I'm aware and I'd like 4 more and if I have to pay, I don't mind. The employee said it's fine, I trusted the employee put 4 sauces. When I got home they had only put 2 more sauces.

Tldr post their new changes food is noticably more expensive since portions are noticably smaller and if you ask for more sauce they behave like you ask for their first born 😂. In the food they serve white sauce is a key element. I wish I didn't have to fight for it....since when they had dine-in you're could literally take as much as you wanted.

Edit: When I wrote this review, I read some other recent reviews based on more recent experiences which suggested they had made changes (for the better) since the experience I'd described in the review above. I went back (after writing the above review). My most recent experience here was almost a complete turnaround. While the packaging is still the same as it was in the experience mentioned prior to this edit, the container seemed to be filled more. The sauce cups are back to initial size and now there is no longer a battle for sauces. Food has been and continues to be as tasty as ever. If it wasn't for the 2 strands of hair found in our food the pre-edit 1-star rating would have been a 5-star. While finding hair in your food can be very off-putting, I hope this was a fluke. I should mention this is the first time out of many visits that I've had...

I was in Hackensack to go shopping with my daughter. I was really hungry and Googled good restaurants near me and Halal with Heart came up and I saw they had good reviews. I was greeted with 5 star treatment, and I wasn't sure what to order. The girl at the register offered some guidance, I ordered what she suggested: Gyro Platter with Plaintains, Cheese, Cabbabe/Carrot slaw and tomatoes. On the side the give a delicious white sauce and some hot sauce. Everything was super yummy. Typically I don't eat Plaintains because they usually don't taste very good and frequently are greasy, not these they were cooked perfectly and not greasy at all. On the side they include a half pita that is freshly made when you place your order this was also very good and I usually pass on the pita (so happy I didn't pass on this one). The gyro meat was cut into pieces which made it very easy to eat with the bowl platter. The portions were very generous, I had enough leftovers from 1 platter to have a second meal. The cost for the platter and a bottled water was under $17, which is amazing for the quality and portions. The staff are friendly, knowledgble and very willing to help. The restaurant is clean and they have great parking. Sorry, I didn't take a photo, I was too hungry at the time! I can't wait to return and try something new. You guys rock! ...

I’ve been here plenty of times, because it’s my go to when I’m on the go! Online ordering can’t get any easier-simple and fast. I’m only giving two stars due to my in store experience. After placing my order online I head to the store for pick up. As I approached the designated area for pick up, I observed that there were about six orders awaiting pick up and there is a young lady who seems to be handling the flow of orders in this particular area. I waited 8 mins with no acknowledgment. After 8 minutes of watching her carry on conversations with her fellow coworkers - I also observed 3 male customers come in after me and walk up to the counter where I was standing and was acknowledged by the same worker who ignored me. I decided to get on the line where you place your order to ensure that they were aware that I had been waiting. The young lady- Amalfi, had to stop doing her job and leave the counter to walk over and make sure that I received my order, while the other worker just watched. I understand that we are busy at times, but ensuring the retention of the customer is key! Unfortunately , I will not be returning to this location due to the lack of customer service provided during this particular visit. I’ll just take my money and business to Halal guys, who are super busy but...
