My boyfriend and I came here last night seeking an intimate vibe and good food. The restaurant was nicely decorated, clean, and had an ambiance. My boyfriend's one complaint about the atmosphere was that the tables are very close together, but this didn't bother me. The service was very good, there were only two servers with all of the tables full and they did a great job being attentive. Now onto the food, starting with the breadsticks. They were fresh, soft, and had garlic flavoring. We ordered the famous meatballs as an appetizer. The meatballs were alright, nothing to rave about but what did get us was the marinara sauce they were served in. The sauce was fantastic, we asked the servers to bring us a small dish of it to dip our breadsticks in which was a great combo. Onto the entrees: I got the branzino special (mild white fish in a white wine sauce with sauteed spinach topped with capers), and my boyfriend got the salmon (seared salmon in a dijon mustard sauce with mashed potatoes and vegetables). My fish was very nicely done, the presentation was as good as the flavor. If you love flaky white fish this one is quite flavorful, the sauce was delicious, the sauteed spinach cooked perfectly, and the capers were bursting with flavor and complimented the whole dish well. My boyfriend really liked his salmon and I tried a bite. The fish tasted good and the dijon mustard sauce was nothing like anything we've had before. It unexpectedly complimented the fish nicely. He said the mashed potatoes were a little above average. Now onto the desserts: the cannolis were top tier, it was my boyfriend's first time having cannolis and he described them as life changing. They were very fresh, creamy, and flavorful. We also got the chocolate hazelnut cake. This one was good, but we ate the cannolis before trying it which already stole our hearts. In the end, our bill before tip was $127. We agreed this wasn't a bad price considering we got an appetizer, two fish entrees and two desserts. We left here feeling full, satisfied, and not guilty about the money we spent because it was all worth it. Not to mention, we really enjoyed the bring your own wine aspect. I would...
Read moreThis review is a little overdue, but I don't see how anyone can go any lower then this. If you did, you don't understand what the words authentic, fresh and customer service all mean. Toscana is the total package! From beginning to end! We as customers are the priority and it shows in everything they do.
Last Tuesday we celebrated my wife's birthday. I called early in the day and was greeted very warmly over the phone. Everything about what we ordered was catered to what we needed with any question asked being about what was best for us. Later on, I was out of the house and would be in the area a little before pick up time. I called to see if the food could be ready for around the time I would be in town and they said absolutely. As I made my way to Toscana, they called me to tell me the chef had made an error and made something other then what was ordered. They apologized for the mistake but had already corrected it. In my head there was nothing wrong then why the phone call? They wanted to know if I would like the item made at a discounted rate because of their error. They understood it wasn't an originally ordered item, but wanted it to be used instead of discarded. I said I would take the item and they really couldn't thank me enough. I asked them if they would come outside to bring me the food because I had my 1 year old daughter in the car and was told without hesitation yes. I was greeted outside by the father and the son I believe and it was if we had been friends for a long time. They continuously thanked me and reviewed my order 3 times to make sure it was all there for me.
When I got home and set everything out for dinner, it was all still extremely fresh. My in-laws were over to celebrate with us and we did was rave about everything as we ate. Everything was phenomenal!
We will continue to support this LOCAL FAMILY OWNED...
Read moreCame here with my family for a goodbye dinner, and I have to say it was quite cozy and cute inside. They are a BYOB restaurant, so we brought our own wine and our waiter opened and poured it for us throughout the visit making sure our glasses were always full. I strongly suggest they type up the specials for people to read and to view prices. The waiter told us the specials from memory; so of course, all three of us had questions to ask and the waiter was getting angry that we couldn’t remember all of what he just said. After we order, we receive these absolutely delicious breadsticks and they were gracious enough to bring out seconds! I ordered the meatballs as an appetizer, I thought they were really tasty and juicy! I ordered the Chicken Milanese as my entree. I thought the chicken was a bit dry and super thin, it definitely looked like a large piece of chicken but was very deceiving. I was very excited for dessert because I was told by the lady that everything was homemade. I also work in the restaurant industry; I recognized 3 of the desserts right away being from a restaurant company. She then told me that the Tiramisu was a family recipe of theirs and let me say this, it is a must try for sure. Tiramisu is a favorite of mine and it did not disappoint! The lady also sold me on ordering her cappuccino because she makes them really good; it was good and extra foamy. Overall, it was a nice experience. However, I don’t think I will be coming back anytime soon due to the prices. If I knew 3 meatballs were going to be $19 I would have skipped it. Same for some of the other dishes, especially on the specials menu. I get they are going for a more upscale feel but having your waiter and waitress sit a table away from you eating and talking with other workers doesn’t really give...
