Mazur Cafe & Chocolate Lab — Restaurant in Hackettstown

I stopped in on a whim to indulge my Iced Chai craving & I was completely surprised when I stepped in. I expected a proper chocolate shop & that's not what it is at all. Yes, there's chocolate but just bars, $10 each. There were maybe 4 Pastries left to chose from which didn't even look appealing. I waited a good 5 minutes before the young blonde Barista asked me if I needed help. I ordered a small Lavender 🍋 Lemonade, which I didn't honestly taste any Lavender at all. And of course I ordered a large Punpkin Iced Chai w/Oatmilk. The service would've probably been quicker if she wasn't flirting ridiculously w/the young male customer who just would not go away! He just stood back by her & was an annoying run on sentence. Another couple came in after me & left w/in 30 seconds w/both giving me an eye roll because of the unprofessional atmosphere I'm sure! If the young man was a friend of the Barista he should've realized that's her place of work & left once there were customers, but he didn't. The "cafe/chocolate lab" is geared towards college students it seems & is not a place I'd visit again. It reminded me of someone's unkept livingroom that doubles as a wanna be Central Perk. After seeing another coffee boutique getting called out on the rude service I decided to be honest in my review here. I LOVE coffee. I go to coffee shops, been to the coffee expos (I’m that snob). The girl taking my coffee order was rude to say the least. As I was talking and stumbling on my words she was trying her hardest the whole time not to laugh in my face. And when I took a second to think about what milk choice I wanted in my drink she really was trying again not to laugh. Made me really uncomfortable. Anyway if you are reading this because you also like coffee don’t bother coming here. I think they expect a specific type of customer. I guess they are also known for the chocolate as well. I really, really wanted to like this place. The people were so nice and the cafe itself had a great vibe. The issue was the drink: a hot peanut butter chocolate latte. My first couple of sips were great -- a good nutty flavor from the peanut butter, nice dark chocolate hints, and the deliciousness of King's Gambits coffee.

Unfortunately, halfway through the quality changed. However they blend the drink doesn't seem to be working just right because the bottom ended up being a thick, lumpy slurry of PB& Chocolate. The texture was entirely off-putting. I hope this was a fluke, and I'm open to going back especially since I didn't try the chocolate. Just don't think I'll be getting lattes...
