The store is tucked away on Main Street so its easy to miss when not looking for it. They've got a HUGE selection of board games for purchase and are always bringing in more. If you're a D&D fan. they have two dedicated RPG areas including a room with fantasy décor, an old wooden table, and an actual fireplace. You can find pretty much everything you'll need for RPGs there including books, dice, models, terrain, monster cards, and more. If your thing is tabletop games & wargames, they've usually got a campaign or league going for a different game every few months in addition to carrying the full Citadel (Games Workshop) paints line, Army Painter paints & supplies, basing products, etc. They do Magic the Gathering events weekly with drafts every Friday night, Modern on Thursdays, open play Commander Thursday & Saturday, and participate in pretty much every Prerelease Weekend. Also they sell Magic singles there if you need them for your decks. If your family like Pokémon, they have free Open League on Saturday afternoons and are very kid & family friendly.
This place truly has something for everyone with games. On top of that, the owner is a super nice guy who knows a ton about games (especially board games) and the prices are extremely fair. I...

Craig gets to know his customers. He and his family put their whole hearts into the store. I started going as soon as it opened six years ago, and he's always working to improve it, including taking over the store next door after it closed to expand his business and include more game tables. He's always getting new materials and expansions for all hobbies and has ordered things he didn't have in stock for customers who requested it.
The atmosphere is welcoming, and people who wander in can pull a game off the community shelf to play while they hang out. He sells snacks and sodas and always has ambient music playing throughout the store.
The Dragon's Hoard family are all amazing people who love what they do, and their customers all love them. We don't live in Hackettstown anymore, but we always make a stop in when we're in town to chat and buy some dice. We've met some amazing people and grew close friendships playing here, and we hope it...
Read moreCraig,
I neglected to add that The Dragon’s Hoard is an awesome, local place for people of all ages to play Magic the Gathering among other games. You’re respectful to your customers regardless of their age or gender. Your products are competitively priced and plentiful. Thank you for keeping our kids safe and wanting to come back again and again. In addition, I’m so happy I decided to have Spencer’s HS graduation party at your venue. I can’t thank you enough for all of your assistance AND helpful advice throughout the entire process. I could see and hear that every player was truly enjoying themselves while playing MTG and chowing down on Davila’s delicious food. I’d like to add that your wife, Mary, was instrumental in my getting through the day by pitching in wherever necessary and without even being asked. Also, to all the other people who pitched in to help us out in any way, we thank you. Addie, you’re a true baker in every sense of the word! Spencer enjoyed having all of his friends partake in his celebration at the place he practically lives! We thank you both for a...
