Central Park Bagel — Restaurant in Haddon Township

This place is simultaneously the best and most frustrating bagel experience you can have in the Philly/south jersey area. Hands down favorite bagel sandwich no contest. However, the service is a mess. We've been coming here for years, and the owners are incredibly nice, but everyone that works there wanders between stations, therefore managing to be as slow and ineffective as they possibly can be. There’s rarely anyone at the register to help customers, so there are people waiting in line that shouldn’t actually be waiting—e.g. people whose call-ahead orders are ready and just need to pay, people who are just buying bagels, etc. Each person that works there needs to pick a single job and stick to it. The youngest employee (it's currently a young man with glasses on Saturdays) needs to stay at the register and just do the register, nothing else. The older man needs to expedite—package orders, take phone orders, put tickets on the line, and hand out people’s orders. The ladies need to stay on the grill & assemble sandwiches. That’s it. If everyone just stuck to their own job, this place would operate so much more smoothly. We say this because we love their food and like the owners, and hope they see this, so they can improve...

Two things I love a good bagel spot and a good pizza spot. I was quiet disappointed getting a toasted cream cheese bagel from here. The bagel tasted like cardboard it definitely wasn’t fresh. She toasted my bagel, put it on the cutting board along with a everything bagel so we know where I’m about to go. I watched her the whole time just to make sure she would clean up and she only gave it a dust off and slid my bagel over so my bagel taste like a everything bagel which I HATE. If I wanted a everything bagel I would of ordered that. Along with cream cheese she use the chives cream cheese to use for my cream cheese. Thank god I wasn’t in the mood to argue but I was curious to see how my bagel was going to taste. YUCK YUCK YUCK I will never ever go back! Update: came back 6 months later. Line wasn’t as bad but the still waited over 15 minutes with almost no one there. Ordered a Sausage egg and cheese and the sausage was so thin (were talking like 1/8 of an inch high) and overcooked that iff not for the fact that it was crunchy I wouldn’t have known it was even in the sandwich. Will update in 3-6 months when I leave the gym one day and cave again lol

Amazing food but horrible speed.

I was here for over 45 min straight to pick up an order I called ahead of time for. There were only 15 people in line.

These guys need to get their systems and operations optimized for speed and efficiency. It made me never want to go back. I know it’s mom and pop run, but it’s a terrible customer experience.
