I've been to the pour house at least 30 times. I used to love drinking here, with their extensive beer list being a treat. I've always been pretty happy with the food as well. In the past I've given the Pour House a 4-5 star rating, but I have to drop it to 3 at this point.
I've been sober for 9 months now, and by chance ended up with some gift cards to use here. So I figured I'd grab an app or two, and an NA beer. To my surprise the Pour House only carries Heineken 0.0 as an NA beer, and the waitress didn't even know if they had them to begin with. That has me doubting their freshness, and I'm just not big on that one anyway.
The Pour House is one of the best craft beer bars in the southern half of the state, so I figured they'd maybe have something from Lagunitas, or Sam Adams, or Dogfish Head. Nope. I mention those because they're breweries The Pour House already carries in some capacity.
The NA beer market is rapidly growing, and furthermore, it is more than macro stuff. There are breweries dedicated to craft NA beer like Athletic. It's a shame that The Pour House apparently cares so little about being accommodating for sober visitors that they only carry Heineken 0.0.
I'm not asking for tap space, but keeping a singular Sam Adams Hazy IPA, or Athletic Golden Ale, or Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher, just something for us sober people would be reasonable.
Instead, a place that used to be a favorite will now be forever ignored. The food has always been secondary to the beer list here. The brussels I got were burnt. I get they char them typically, but there wasn't a bit of brussels that wasn't burnt/charred. No green vegetation at all. The Nashville mac and cheese was okay, but did not taste $16 worth.
Thanks for the memories Pour House, had many good times there.
