I want to like this place a lot more because the ice cream itself is delicious, but I have a hard time with the lack of general customer service/awareness. Barely anyone makes eye contact when you come in to pick up an online order and I almost never hear a, “Hi, are you picking up?” from the staff when standing in the order pickup area. And that goes for anyone I see waiting for their order, not just myself. To be clear, this has occurred regularly even when there’s no line at the front counter. It’s honestly somewhat perplexing, especially for a new business.
I also want to be clear that I’d never put any of this on the younger folks working there, as I don’t see any lack of interaction with customers across the street at Primo or over at Gelato Dolceria in Haddonfield which are also commonly staffed by young adults. It’s honestly just a bit of an awkward vibe in general when you walk in, and I think a bit of training could go a long way. It also simply does a service to the employees looking to get positive work experience and some soft skills under their belt for future jobs.
I truly don’t want this post to come off as complaining, but I wanted to make it clear that I see room for some possible improvements. I think customer service is a bit of a lost art these days and making your customers feel welcome (but not bombarded) is important. Even just a simple, “Hi, we’ll be right with you!” along with some follow-through within a few minutes can go...
Read moreI had previously shared this experience on Facebook but it seems similar complaints here are being misconstrued, so I'll restate it here. There was a free ice cream promo promoted across multiple platforms indicating the deal would run until 11 PM on Sunday night. We went in at around 6:30 and were told the promo had ended early because they had run out of so many ingredients. Not withstanding that, we were able to order our ice cream without issue or modification, and we paid full price (which I think is too high, for what it's worth).
The point of this comment (and what I take the others to be saying) isn't that the promo as run wasn't enough - it was the feeling of being duped when you arrived at the store, expecting to use a deal that was running for 5 more hours, only to find out it was ended. That change was not announced on instagram, where the promos had been posted for multiple days, and it was written far into two long facebook text posts. Just so it is very clear, the issue is not whether "4 days is enough," the issue is feeling like the promo themselves were very well promoted but were ended early without that same level of attention. It feels tricky, whether it was intentional or not.
The responses to this legitimate complaint, from multiple people on here and other platforms, affirm that I won't be returning. There are many other options that, in my opinion, are better priced and offer a better product and better...
Read moreI I really wanted to like this place. The shop has a cute vibe and a great selection of flavors, and I’ve come back several times hoping for a better experience. I used to work in an ice cream shop as a teen, so I really try to give grace when it’s busy or things go wrong, and I rarely write reviews, but after multiple disappointing visits, I felt it was worth sharing.
One time I came in to purchase an ice cream cake, and they told me they couldn’t write on it. I was surprised , it’s a birthday cakeafter all. They didn’t offer any alternative solutions or seem interested in helping, so I left without one.
Another time, I brought extended family, and the staff seemed frustrated and unwelcoming, especially when some family members needed help understanding the menu. No guidance, no suggestions, just impatience.
On a separate visit, they refused to serve my toddler’s ice cream in a cone. It might seem minor, but anyone with a toddler knows what kind of meltdown that can lead to, and again, no flexibility or explanation.
To top it off, every time we’ve come, the ice cream has been soft, melty, and unappetizing. It just doesn’t feel like the quality matches the price point.
I’m writing this not to be harsh, but in hopes the owner sees this and can take it as helpful feedback. They seem to genuinely care about their business. There’s potential here, but the service and quality need...
