Byers Market — Restaurant in Hagerstown

Went there today about 2am this morning to get a pack of smokes and a drink. While there I was looking for a candy bar. Saw what I thought was a regular Twix until I noticed it was peppermint for the holidays. Pick up the phone called my wife and she gagged over the phone and said "No". So I put the candy back onto the shelf. Now I didn't put in back in the end cap where it was I simply laid it down on the combos. While checking put I feel hot air behind me. 2 stupid looking fellows with there official security t-shirts which us way to small for there 10 fold bellies watched me pat for my drink and cigs. I headed towards the exit door when on 10 fold ass clown asked to look into my pockets. I said "excuse me"! He said it again "let me check your pockets". I said for what. He says the candy bar you took. I simply laughed guided him to where I put it at. Well that didn't satisfy him at all. He then says you tried to steal and then swoop down low and hide it. I laughed again... 10 folds says I saw you try to steal it. I said "No I through it there after noticing it wasn't what i wanted. Then 10 folds started to drop every curse word and degrading terms towards me. Wow I'm thinking to myself what a ass clown with his way to small t-shirt and 10 folds belly yelling like a ass as I'm holding a 20 dollar bill and some ones in my hands where I could've bought 18 candy bars. Then apparently this guy says I'm no longer welcome there. Huh??? Because I put it a candy bar back in the wrong spot. Hmmmmmmm. As I proceeded to leave another too tight shirt 8 folds ass clown video my departure and also expressing his need to degrade me and his very bad vocabulary was somewhere in the level of a 3rd or maybe a 4th grader cursing as well. So my trip to Beyers stop and blow me was a joke. Whom ever owners are you might want to let then know they have no legal right to touch me or pat me down and instead of accusing me maybe just maybe look around to see where i laid the candy bar at to say hmmmm. He wasnt stealing. Im not sure if they were looking up at the ceiling or there bellies simply didn't allow them to look down to see it. I will be calling the owners to explain and hopefully something will be down with 8 and 10 fold. Good night and...

It's pretty good there I mean the prices are a little bit high but you got to expect that because you know it's a convenience store it's not the grocery store really it's kind of like my mom's store down in Sharpsburg, Battleview Market. It's been the same problem down there and it was on the fact that whoever the Pepsi driver is I don't know if they're the same person on that route or not but if you guys at buyers read this please for the love of God tell your Pepsi driver to keep the pure leaf sweet tea out of the sun and needs to come in directly from the truck because the last couple of times that it's tasted like ass and I can't bring it back of course cuz it's still got a good date on it but it's what happens especially if it was cold then got warm then got sat outside things got cold again makes it nasty so please don't let him do that because we had to end up telling management and they're the ones that finally got him to do it I guess he was going to lose his job if he did because he would not do it no matter how many times I asked him to please do it please give them aside but he always had two leave him suck the outside while you got other stuff inside I never understood I mean I thought it was because he had to put something somewhere first but no it just did that I think that pissed me off maybe I don't know I really don't. Anyway but other than that I have never ever had hey problem in there and I think if I would take my tea back and it would maybe even they might even be able to smell it but I just all drank it and I'll suffer Because I don't like putting the people in the register on the spot especially if they're not managers and they don't know and they got to ask somebody and go through all of that I just know how they feel and how I feel and it's just it's almost worth it but I'll just...

I've experienced some very shady business practices before but this store has really gone too far. I've cashed a check there and the posted fee was 4% after going to the counter and cashing my check something didn't seem right, I did the math and was charged nearly a 20% fee, not the posted 4% fee.

I was told by whom I assume was the manager that " we don't have to post our fees ". I was told that they charge an additional fee if your check is under a certain amount AFTER it was cashed. This is very shady and suspicions that you charge an additional "fee" but don't tell the customer until after they have cashed a check. The advertised fee was 4% which is not the fee I was charged, this is fraud just as going to pay for a $1 priced item and being charged $10.

I was also told by whom I assume to be the manager that if I give them the cash back they would give me the check back that was already cashed so that it could be cashed somewhere else.
