Create A Candle — Attraction in Hagerstown

This is one of my favorite places in Hagerstown (if not my absolute favorite). Owners Brittni and Troy are so welcoming and open to community feedback on improving their business that each experience at Create a Candle is better than the last one. Whether I'm pouring clean soy wax with my girls, my grandma, or on a date-night with my partner, I always leave with a one-of-a-kind creation (and you know it's mine because of the abundance of confetti glitter on top) that smells seasonally amazing. Brittni and Troy will walk you through the steps at the pace you need, but the candle is entirely made by you, from the jar you want to the scent you mix to the way you decorate it. Create a Candle has a variety of affordable vessels (and even offers a discount if you bring a used jar back!) which means there is something for everyone. Plus, they are now bringing in more selections by local artists and sourcing their decorations locally as well (as they have just announced on social medias a collaboration with a local flower farm). Not only are they giving to the community by running this type of maker space, but Create a Candle also engages in so many events bringing Downtown Hagerstown back to life and running specials that support local organizations -- my best friend and I first tried it when they were fundraising for Hagerstown Hopes last year. I loved my experience with Create a Candle; I had perfect memorial candles made in memory of my grandmother who recently passed.They are so much more affordable than the other options I’ve found online. If I got seven candles online it would have been a few hundred dollars but I got them all for only $96. I chose the mahogany shea scent because it smelled lovely and it seemed like a calming scent for the seven memorials I will be giving out. I also put in some colored flower petals and put customized labels on each and they came out so beautiful. I was also told that I could take my candle back and get it refilled if I wanted to so I could keep my grandmother’s love forever burning. I will definitely be coming back here another day...

Had the most amazing time here with friends for a private Xmas gathering . This place is a not-so hidden gem in downtown Hagerstown🫶🏾! From the aesthetics, to the welcoming spirit of the owners; this place is just dope! I enjoyed how they walked us through everything and allowed us to create our own masterpieces! The selection of fragrances are amazing, the choices of candle holders are plentiful and other vendors they collab w/ n' sell novelties have such nice things there!! I will most definitely be back and look forward to another fun...
