We have enjoyed coming to Manny's-(Haines City) , ever since we moved down here in 2017. The food and portion size has been consistently delicious. Occasionally, we might have something in an entree that wasn't quite right. However, Kevin-(awesome manager) and the wait staff would immediately correct it. However, the other night Fri-7/25 my wife and I went and the restaurant which was surprisingly slow for a Friday. As usual , we were greeted at the door by the hostesse(s) and immediately seated. I ordered my usual strip steak-(medium rare) and my wife ordered the Teriyaki flavored grilled chicken grilled chicken. She doesn't particularly care for the rice on the plate so as a courtesy they have always allowed her to substitute a vegetable for the rice on that entree. The food was Delicious š and came out quickly. However, when the bill came I noticed that they had charged for the vegetable that my wife got. It was only $3.89. Thinking it was just an oversight , I mentioned it to the waitress who said she needed to talk to the manager to make the adjustment. When she returned a couple minutes later she said that the manager said no and that's all she offered as the reason. Now as I stated it was only $3.89 but the fact that it was something that they consistently allowed stuck in my brain so I felt like I needed to ask the manager directly. I did not want to hold up the table for the waitress in the event I had to wait for the manager whom I only saw out on the floor once during the entire time we receded with our meal. Even then she would occasionally look over at one of the tables and give a quick grin but continue to stroll on by without any real interaction-(that I could see). That was a surprise to me because the managers are usually very welcoming and interactive, inquiring about your meal or the moment or the mood, just some quick Chit Chat to make you feel welcomed. Anyway, we went to the front where found Kelly standing by the popcorn machine talking with some of the staff members so I politely interrupted and asked her why she denied my request for the substitution. The expression on her face went Stone Cold and she straight up replied" we don't do stuff like that"! I was kind of shocked at the tone and stoic attitude. I looked over at my wife who I could tell was wondering the same thing by her expression. Also, a good friend who regularly goes there was sitting at the bar and he gave me one of those looks and then raised his hands in the air as to convey "I don't know either! " I then replied to Kelly that ever since we've been coming here they have graciously done substitutions. I also let her know that I would be reaching out to her boss because this was an inappropriate response. Once again her facial expression appear to infer a response of "go right ahead I don't care" At that point we turned around and left. Sadly , I don't think this constructive criticism will make much difference . However, I felt that the owners would want to know who they have representing their interests. As a manager Kelly does not cut it. Now I guess it's a possibility she was having a horrible night or she has some personal issues but unfortunately they can't bleed over into your professional life there's got to be boundaries and if you're in that kind of a position you need to separate them out. We won't be back anytime soon but at least I know I've said my peace. Man, I wish Kevin was on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen we arrived at Mannyās chophouse, the parking lot was packed and after speaking to my boyfriend, I knew that this was going to be a good place to eat. We got in and asked for a table for two and they said well all we have is a large table do you mind no we donāt mind at all so we receded and our server proceeded to write on the paper, her name and the managerās name which I thought was Extremely smart so that we wouldnāt forget her name and that if we had a problem, we can contact the manager. She asked what we wanted to drink and then asked if we were had any questions and I said no Iām new here. Iād like to read the menu. We chose what we wanted to eat. We had the onion rings as an appetizer and they are fresh homemade onion rings with in-house sauce that has a hint of horseradish, and I must say that they were amazing and they were huge. Next, we had our salads that come with the meal and since thereās two of us, it was in a big bowl. They put the salad dressing on it when theyāre at the table they mix it together, put it in chilled bowls, and hand it to you and I do mean that these bowls are so cold that I couldnāt touch them Without getting my fingertips cold. So that keeps a salad, chilled for one and crisp for another. The rules that they give you also are fresh from the oven and it comes in a basket with either regular butter or cinnamon butter. The basket that I took a photograph of you see only cinnamon butter thatās because that was our second basket. I ordered my 9 ounce filet mignon rare and my boyfriend ordered his ribeye, medium rare and they came out perfectly, not only that when you cut into them with the steak knife, it was like cutting melting butter. They were juicy they were tender. You didnāt need to add any sauce to them. They were amazing steaks. They tasted like they had just come off the grill and I donāt mean gas grill I mean that Hardy wood or charcoal grill that you get that intense flavor with. If thereās a line outside and you have to wait, you know the food is good. The parking lot was packed when we came out and people were waiting because the food is that amazing. The atmosphere and the service is one of inviting its homie itās eclectic and there are license plates from all around the world on the wall hubcaps pictures of cars. It is very, very nostalgic looking. If you are in the area of the original Mannyās chophouse, I highly recommended, especially after visiting the Bok Gardens. If you love steak, this place is great if you love ribs or chicken, they have that too. The sides are amazing the appetizers thereās a plethora to choose from they have a wide variety of menu. They also have wine and beer and all the other stuff but itās family oriented, people gather here to have an enjoyable meal and have a good time talking. Before I forget this Sunday that I show in my pictures since I had told Tiffany this was my first time here she comes back with this huge Sunday and I mean it is huge for people could actually finish that because my boyfriend and I didnāt, but because I was new to manage chophouse or we were new I should say to the chophouse it was for free and it was amazing and I donāt know if they used homemade ice cream or what but it was delicious. The brownie was flavorful and it was full of chocolate and I canāt recommend this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis evening I had dinner with my family that included 2 small children. Pulling in to park, I parked towards the back. There was a sign that stated 'Shared Parking' for Manny's and Egg City to the left, so that where I and MANY others were parked. There was another sign that said 'tow away zone' to the other side. No one was parked there because people would think that that particular area is where you shouldn't park. Again many cars were parked in the area. Had dinner which was great. Food and service was great. I come out after dinner, around 9pm its freezing cold and lo and behold my car is gone. Thankfully my daughter's phone was in the car and I was able to trace where my car was and that I was with family who parked the same place I did and the car wasn't towed. I called Manny's and asked them if knew anything about where cars are towed to, they acted like they knew nothing about what I was asking. The manager 'knew nothing' and said let me find out what happened to your car. The tow truck driver comes to where my car was and was a complete jerk. He dilly dallies and eats up the time not getting started on the paperwork so he can clock me up another hour. When I called him out on this that's when he started the paperwork He charges me $220 cash which obviously I don't have on me (no one would) but then charges me another 5% to run my card (SCAM). I said 'you know that this is wrong', he says to me 'yes, I know it's wrong, but this is my job'. He said I would get a receipt via email. Which I never got since I DIDN'T GIVE HIM my email. Just a charge on my credit card. I feel that Manny's knows about this and that this happens more often than not. Why is this issue not addressed? Why is the signage not clearer? Are they getting a cut of the ill-gotten gains from Webb Towing company and Webb's Auto Salvage? Why is there not a sign at the restaurant that clearly says that 'you are at risk of being towed'? This was a SCAM, and I am disappointed in Manny's that they wouldn't be more vigilant in protecting their customers. A great dinner experience totally ruined because of poor signage. What is the point of towing cars at 9 at night in a abandoned dark lot where many cars were parked? Shame on Manny's. To...
