I called to see if my medication was in stock and they said I would have to come in person to ask that question. Cool. I drive all the way up there and the pharmacist asks do I live in Haines city.. yes.. he proceeds to ask why my prescription has a Tampa address.. because I used to live there and recently moved to Haines city and haven’t found a new sleep doctor yet. Mind you my prescriptions are written three months in advance and I fill monthly. He proceeds to ask who my doctor is which is clearly stamped on my prescription but whatever I tell him anyways. He then waits a minute then asks is my doctor still open I say yes. he says he needs to call to confirm the prescription which at this point I realize he is questioning the validity of my paper script so I said okay. He comes back and I ask did you get ahold of them and he says yes but he has to wait 24 hours to look further into this because my prescription isn’t a usual one for a pulmonologist which I reiterate from a conversation earlier that it is because it is for narcolepsy not adhd and pulmonologist most often specialize in sleep medicine and are fully certified to treat and medicate those diagnosed with narcolepsy. He says well I need to look into this further I can make a copy and get back with you ??? I’m unsure why my prescription was being questioned in the first place. The script doesn’t appear fake and I’ve done nothing wrong. I need my medication to literally function and it can put me in a dangerous position to not have it. Honestly it was so embarrassing to be put on the spot in front of everyone and basically put on trial with the assumption I was trying to commit some kind of fraud. I’m not a drug addict or a con artist! I was diagnosed with narcolepsy after serving in the army and was just trying to get my medication that I forgot to refill in advance because narcolepsy also comes with brain fog so now I am out of medicine and the only reason I came to Walgreens is because Publix and CVS were out of stock and could not refill it! I would 100% never come back here to be subjected to this type of embarrassment or...
Read moreIf I wasn't in desperate need of a pharmacy that would take my insurance and this one wasn't THE ONLY Walgreens in my area, I would send my prescription elsewhere. When I call the waiting time is over 15 minutes for very simple questions that need answered. I have gotten mixed answers for why my medication is not ready (its not in stock or the insurance didn't cover it). The lines are so long and slow. They are understaffed and I'm sure the staff is doing what they can, and this I can tolerate.
I am not one to write negative reviews but as a health care provider and a patient myself, I can't move on today without warning other patients to try to take their medication elsewhere if they can...
Today I received an unexpected call from the pharmacy, so I answered during work hours and had a VERY difficult time hearing/understanding the person on the other side due to noise on BOTH sides of the line. I have hearing limitations so to help with the sound pollution I moved into a quiet room. unfortunately, there was a bit of miscommunication (that was eventually sorted out). But this staff member was (in my opinion) rude when I asked to repeat themselves please, saying "I just need you to pay attention to what I'm saying" as if I was choosing to be distracted and not taking into consideration my limitations.
This might seem small for some but it's just the cherry on top of how horrible it has been to get help from this pharmacy, let alone my medications. I hope this finds the right people to help this location. Not sure if they need another location opened in the area or hire new staff... or maybe train the current staff on how to interact with people. I understand how difficult it is to work with patients BUT we should NEVER lose sight that we are working with people who...
Read moreWent on for my No Appointment Needed vaccine and the tech immediately said the Pharmacist was on lunch and it would be 30 minutes til he got back and then after that, once he got done doing something he would be able to get to us, so it may be an hour or more to wait. I pointed out the No Appointment Needed sign in front and she was unwavering in this response and basically told me, sorry.. that’s how it is. Mind you, it was 1:30pm so it wasn’t crowded or anything. Her customer service skills were severely lacking. Add to this, I had ordered an item online and when I tried to pick it up, the employee spoke very little English and had no idea what I wanted. I finally had to show her where the online orders were kept and there was my order. Lastly, my final purchase was a BOGO that I had tried to order online, they said it was out of stock.Of course the item was absolutely in stock, so I picked them up and the process of checking out was a pain. The kid behind the register just didn’t want to be there. I was trying to use a discount card, but all he kept saying is, “it don’t work.” In fact it finally did work and we got the transaction done, but the general attitude and overall lack of customer service at this location...
