Not sure why it has such a low score based on the reviews because that is not, in my opinion, what my son and I experienced. While doing some Christmas shopping, my son wanted to eat at El Tayta Peruvian restaurant. From the outside seatings to the inside of the establishment we were greeted with warm and welcoming smiles. Juan Paul and Cecilia were not only very respectable and attentive, but very kind as well. Thank you John Paul and Cecilia for treating my son like a "Rock Star." My son had one of the lunch chicken specials (1/4 roasted chicken) which comes with 2 sides and a drink for $8.49. He later then had the chocolate cake for desert. I noticed while looking through their menu that they offer breakfast 7 days a week from 9 to 11a.m. From breakfast sandwiches, breakfast specials, Peruvian breakfast subs, and Peruvian Típicas, from Cau Cau to Tacu Tacu con Lomo (beef), to name a few. Lunch specials from 11 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday only, which includes 1 appetizer (Papa a la Huancaina, Ceviche, Salad or Soup) and 1 Peruvian main course, 12 to choose from, whether it's seafood, beef or chicken. On the regular menu, you have appetizers, ceviches, soups, beefs, chicken, fish, other seafood, pastas, and specialty rice, as well as side orders, and deserts. They offer coffee, Sangria, wines, beers, natural Peruvian juices, Inca Kola or regular Coke, as well as bottled water. If you prefer, they have a very nice bar area for your specialty drinks as well. Overall. We loved the people, food, and atmosphere, and will definitely be back, very soon. And by the way, I gave it a 4, because although plates seemed very well portioned, some things in the menu, did seem a bit too pricey, and I have had them at other restaurants for a lesser price. And for you guys that rather eat in,...
Read moreI came into this place thinking to get a food and leave happy but I was extremely wrong. First off, this place was extremely dirty and nasty. The food me and family received was extremely nasty that I could not even finish it. We told the waiter who was a skinny, long-faced server and she ended blaming us on why we didn't say anything sooner like we had just gotten the food. We told her that the food felt old and she started making a whole show like it tastes what it tastes like, I'm not the one who cooked it. She started screaming at us and saying it's practically our fault. Secondly, TIP IS MANDATORY HERE. If you think you can come here with only $10 and walk out, think again. We ordered a plate that was $25 and the ultimate total was $50. We only ordered the main plate and 2 more drinks which were a soda and lemonade. They put the amount of tip they wanted which was an amount not adequate for the service I got. I told the lady I do not want to tip for a service and food I was extremely dissatisfied and she thought she was big-dog and threatened to call the police. This lady was screaming her head off like girl relax. I was waiting for the police but she never called them. This place was honestly the worst joint I have ever eaten at. All the server do not do anything and all come with this horrible attitude where they think they can be bold and scary, why would anyone want to eat at a restaurant like this. Literally the place next to them had way better food and the servers looked extremely nice. This place has been reported and ask for everyone to not eat here. You are better off eating at a McDonald's or Gas Station than this down right down dirty and horrific place where you get a side of waiters threatening to call the...
