I felt obliged to share my rather unique experience. I have been ordering from Legend pizza for some time. Always opting to use their delivery service to my home. It so happened recently I needed to make use of their pickup service for a time sensitive event. When I arrive they of course have my order being completed for me to take and be on my way. To my absolute dread it was at that moment I realized I left my wallet(and phone) in my car which was parked at my place of work as I carpooled to the event with a colleague. Being a long time customer was difficult to prove to the staff as I'd only dealt with their courier Jason. I was at my wits end when in walks guess who?Jason! Legend Pizza long time ambassador, and courier of their fine cuisine. He saw I was upset. I explained to him the cause of my distress. He promptly went to what I can only assume was his superior. Next I know Jason comes back out. For Mt vantage unhappy with the discussion grabs cash out of his pocket, paid for my order(which wasn't insignificant) I barely had time to thank him as I had to be at the above mentioned event in minutes. It would be a week or so when I ordered Legends again, and when MR DEPENDABLE JASON (J.J.) ushered my order I repaid him and gave him a gratuity that I hope made him pleased. Great place Great Food Great Service, and still has at least one solid American who has clear values, and unquestioned work ethic. I have ordered from here for as long as I can remember until recently. It should not take an order 3 hours to be made and delivered to my house which is in Hamden off of Dixwell Avenue. The employees are not professional and do not care if a customer is upset with their service. Tonight all I ordered was a small bacon pizza and a small tossed salad to be delivered in Hamden, CT. I ordered this at 5:52pm and did not receive my food until after 7pm. I called exactly hour after I ordered my food and told the lady on the phone that if my order was not going to be here within 10 minutes,i wished to cancel the order. She said the order would be delivered very soon. The order was delivered within 10 minutes. The only problem I have concerning my food was that the pizza was cold. I had to reheat it. The garlic bread was hard and cold as well. When I took a bite into my salad thinking how hard a salad be to mess up, I found a long piece of hair in my salad and the ranch dressing was not edible. I called back to inform the employees the food was not good at all and the lady responded with "Sooooo what do you want me to do about it?". I work in a business and as far as I am concerned, we do NOT treat customers in that tone of voice or with that much of disrespect. I don't know what it is lately or who's doing the hiring, but the delivery guys have been complete a--holes the last few times I've ordered. One of the elevators in my building is currently out of order, so when he called to let me know he was downstairs, I came down as quickly as I could...being on the top floor and trying to catch the one working elevator in the middle of the day when a bunch of other tenants are trying to do the same doesn't exactly equate to a speedy trip to the first floor. (I mean our buzzer works just fine so he could have easily gotten off his butt and brought the pizza upstairs) he kept calling my phone on my way down and literally yelled at me when he shoved my pizza into my hands. Please hire new delivery drivers that aren't rude and disrespectful. I live in an apartment, not a house where I can just open the door in order to get my food.
