Venice Bakery — Restaurant in Hamden

Let me be frank, this bakery is an original! It's a family operated neighborhood gem. Please don't speed but get over to the Venice as soon as you possibly can. It's a quarter mile from Exit 60 on the 15/Merritt so easy local and regional access! The bread is freshly made daily and sells out. Whole wheat, sandwich or hearth style is baked on Thursdays. The "stuffed" breads, a Neapolitan style delicacy something like a calzone, come in many combinations - always fully stuffed, well baked, and very very good fresh or reheated. Good bakery. Lots of foot traffic. The place to go for authentic Napolitano breads. Nestled along Route 10/Dixwell Avenue in the Town of Hamden, CT., the Home of the Green Dragons and Sleeping Giant Park. Hometown of Ernest Borgnine, a Hollywood Actor, and the Muralist Zellinger who painted the dinosaur mural at the Peabody Museum on Whitney Avenue. Buy some bread. NOT WORTH IT for the $$$…

I got the pepperoni stuffed bread and the meatball stuffed bread, so that’s $12+$12=$24.

The meatball bread was burnt and black (should have never been given to a customer).

Hardly meat inside either bread…not stuffed at all or even close!

The cheese had an okay amount.

The taste was good.

Disappointing, especially when you are trying to buy more...
