A Hidden Gem in Hamilton – An Absolute Must-Try! I’ve had takeout from Singh’s Kitchen a couple of times before, thanks to my friends who ordered from here. While the food was always flavorful, by the time we started eating around 8 PM, it had cooled down quite a bit. I always wondered what it would be like fresh from the kitchen.
So, we finally decided to dine in for lunch—and wow, what a difference! The restaurant operates in a casual, self-service style similar to Dunkin’ or Starbucks, where you order at the counter, pick up your food, and find a seat. Our group of five came prepared, bringing along a few Heinekens to complement the meal.
For appetizers, we went all out with Chicken 65, Chilly Chicken, Chicken K’ream Dry, and Lamb Chops—and every single dish was phenomenal! The Chicken 65 was perfectly spiced and packed with flavor, the Chilly Chicken had just the right amount of heat, the Chicken K’ream Dry was unique and delicious, and the Lamb Chops? Absolutely outstanding. We loved them so much that we ordered a second round of all the appetizers!
For the main course, we kept it simple with just one Chicken Curry, one Mutton Curry, and a mix of Garlic and Butter Naans—but simplicity worked in our favor. Every bite was bursting with authentic flavors, rich textures, and perfectly balanced spices.
Adding to the experience was Gurpreet Singh, the owner and chef, who personally stopped by our table to chat. He shared how he incorporates his mother’s recipes and always adds "love" to every dish before it’s served. His passion for cooking truly reflects in the food! His wife, Ritu, who was handling the orders at the counter, was just as warm and welcoming. She helped us navigate the menu and even handed us a beer opener with a smile.
Between the amazing food, the friendly service, and the inviting atmosphere, Singh’s Kitchen is an absolute must-visit. I highly recommend it, especially if you want to experience their dishes...
Read moreThis place is a cozy, homely eatery and feels like home. I think it's run by a couple, both of whom are really polite, down to earth people. I ordered the following to go: Yellow Dal Tadka (mild to medium) Aloo-gobi (hot) Chicken Vindaloo (hot) I don't know for sure if they offer the "Indian hot" category, but I gotta try that next time. First things first - everything we ordered above was really good. If I really had to pick on something, I would say the following: The gobi (cauliflower) in the aloo gobi could have been a bit softer. The Chicken Vindaloo didn't taste like an authentic Vindaloo. I make vindaloo at home, so I know the spices that go into a typical vindaloo curry, this chicken tasted more like a home-cooked pressure cooker chicken curry, which is a brilliant curry in itself, just not vindaloo. I loved the Chicken when I accepted that this is not vindaloo, instead it's one of my other favorite curries. Each of the five pieces of boneless chicken was perfectly cooked. Each piece was very soft and totally melted in the mouth! Now, to answer the most important questions, people read reviews for: Is this place worth going to - YES Will I return there again - Definitely YES Is the cuisine authentic Indian - YES. Just needs an option of "Indian hot" added to suite the Indian spice level. Do visit or take out if you want to, but, definitely give it a try. Thanks Uncle and Aunty for serving...
Read moreWe had only stop that place in between our journey to have proper punjabi food. But instead of punjabi fresh food everything was made from frozen. We had ordered as follow: Hara Bhara Kabab : This was frozen food and they just gave us as deep fried. Paneer Pakoda : Deep fried but Panner was not fresh.. when we had remove the layer of Besan from Pakoda.. the Paneer cube was totally frozen and I dont how old that Paneer was they used. My kid had food poisoning after eating that. Tandoori Soya Chap: It was Canned food and deep fried. Served with lots of oil and onion. Thats it. No marinated, no Spice, No Gravy. Direct from Canned container to our plate. Paneet Makhani as main course: Worst Paneer makhani ever had. The gravy was like water. NO more word to say. Naan: That was only good thing they served as fresh and warm. After having all this our taste had gone very bad ..so need to eat kulfi. That was ok. We had to pay $70 for the Frozen Food. I observed that only a couple is running this businees and they are preparing everything by themselves. Prices are very high for that type of food. Owners of the shop were welcoming but either they need to improve food quality or need to reduce prices of such food. I am not recommending anyone to go here if they are looking for Punjabi food. Beacause many South indian restaurants serves better punjabi...
