EDITED 11/15/21 - So my first review from here was a takeout order and while it was quite good, it lacked a lot of the experience because I couldn't dine in (covid) and it was also a hefty price for one person to eat takeout. Now the prices have not changed, but the addition of the atmosphere and a "night out" makes them feel much more in line with what I'm comfortable spending. The Honey Sesame Chicken appetizer was excellent. Similar to a Sesame Chicken dish from a Chinese takeout spot but significantly better. Much more depth to this, not just sweet on sweet. The chicken was battered and fried perfectly. When we were done, I wanted more. The Butter Chicken was pretty standard as far as most Indian spots go, but standard is good. It's a flavor you expect to get, and it delivered. The Chicken with Broccoli was another Chinese style dish we got (my girlfriend is not super adventurous and she loves this from the Chinese place) that met the requirements of what we were looking for. Very good flavor and the meat and broccoli was cooked perfectly. The broccoli wasn't mush but wasn't too hard and the chicken was velvety and tasty. The Lamb Biryani tasted exactly as I remember it from my takeout meal, which was quite good. I will order this dish from here any day of the week and be happy about it. Now with their even nicer location in Bartonsville, dining in here is a night out that we enjoy. Chinese, Thai, Indian...you can get any of these 3 here, and they're all quite good. Spice Route in Bartonsville, PA - Didn't Suck! If you're ever in the Stroudsburg area of the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania and find yourself in the mood for Indian/Thai/Chinese fare, Spice Route offers all three options. During this Covid Craziness we are facing I was only able to get takeout today from Spice Route so I was a little upset not to be able to check out the dining room and service but I was hungry and was told to try this place out by a lot of friends. As far as takeout goes, this was good but definitely on the pricey side. I'd have had no problem paying this to dine in and enjoy a meal while being waited on, but to spend roughly $30 for takeout for one person seemed a bit steep. The Thai Tea was very tasty though and the Biryani was also quite good. The rice was flavored very well and the lamb was very tender. I will be back for sure once dine in options are available again.

I’d like to start by saying that I’m a huge fan of Indian food and I worked at an Indian restaurant when I was younger, but my last couple of experiences have been pretty upsetting. I noticed another reviewer complaining about the spice level and saltiness and it’s true. New marketing has been great. Yeah, nice, discounts. But honestly lacking everywhere else. No service with a smile, no food how you logically order it, take out is just..not it. If I was in there I would have 1000% sent the food back asking why it tastes like that. 1. They push mild on you when you want absolutely no spice. Which makes no sense if the ingredients are prepared as they should be. The chicken should not be marinated with chili so I don’t see why a dish could just NOT have spice. Maybe they make a huge batch of sauce? Which is improper either way. I’ve prepped for every dish on the menu and I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to meet this demand. 2. There was no difference between the butter chicken and the chicken tikka I ordered. I explicitly asked for no spice in the butter chicken and I got two spicy a** butter chickens. I would know, I cook these dishes myself, but unfortunately I didn’t have the time due to work. 3. They put my dessert in the bag full of hot food…ras malai should be placed in the bag when somebody arrives. You don’t package a dessert with hot food. Haven’t seen this one before. Had to throw it in the freezer while I ate to actually make it edible. The mango lassi and garlic naan are always fire, you guys don’t miss with that one. But the rest of the stuff… review your practices. I really don’t think you should be denying people food without spicy chili inside of it. This is like the 3rd time I order and someone can’t eat it because it’s spicy af. I’m cool with spice levels but when I’m spending $80+ on take out I want people to eat it. Don’t waste peoples time and say mild without warning them that it’s spicy. This is spicy for the average individual. I will more than likely come back in hopes my experience is different. Thanks. I ordered yesterday.

After reviewing the menu online, I would say it needs to be updated. BYOB.

We are avid Spicy Food Officiants and I mean everytime we head out for a date night or afternoon we look for a cleansing unique form of heat to help with inflammation and clearing out our system from the strenuous activities we handle every day....we consider this our #1 flavor and Indian Fusion Soul Food for people in the Pocono Mountains and travelers who need to stop near quick shopping and may have multiple people looking for different food styles in one plaza. This is in an area where you can stop and go shopping for essentials.

Back to the meals we choose. Again, we asked for Extra Spicy- "if you had a scale between 1-5"

The aromatic tones and perfectly cut spices really give this restaurant a unique edge for where it is located. Rating of Spicy Hot Goodness 🌶 🔥 we added the level of spiciness during our order. Please note to ask for an additional spicy level if you need heat!

1- Mild and maybe a bite of hotness Mild with a small touch of heat Spicy and easy to handle Hot but not tongue hurting Extra hot, you may need ice water

These are my opinions and mean only how delicious the food was. The numbers again are rating only the spiciness level, not any quality to the service or food prep. Just SPICY

Thai/Chinese-Fusion Perfect Chicken Noodle 3.5- Spicy lemongrass colliander soup with a nice broth that reminded me of Hot N Sour, Tom Yum flavor, and it had a thin noodle with chicken It was absolutely amazing. Hats off to the chef.

Thai/Indian-Fusion Thick and hearty sauce! 4.5- The Red Snapper was fried to perfection with a chutney red sauce with chives and very perfected spices that added enough heat but allowed the flavor to coexist. It was quite amazing and again hats off to the chef.

Chinese/Thai/Indian-Fusion Heartyness of Indian Food with Chinese and Thai like Flavor and Spicy! 5- Schezwan Tofu had so much flavorful heat and spice that it just made the most amazing textured tofu that was perfectly cooked in what I would say hats off to the chef. This was by far the spiciest and staple of Fusion Cuisine.

Photos next time when we come back in and show the staff who gave such a spectacular review. This was not paid for. Non of our reviews come from any...

We planned a family trip from NC all the way to NY, and had been traveling for hours and hours. Expecting some good Indian food but got 2 ounces of garbage after waiting 40 minutes and even that was lacking salt. They started washing all the dirty dishes 5 feet from us sounding like a drum set on our head. We even tried reaching out to the manager but his arrogance was higher than Mount Everest. Bro wouldn’t even try listening, started rolling his eyes and arguing backed up with what I think is his fake reviews and awards. While leaving he pierced us with his eyes looking like bro’s about to eat us. I would definitely recommend going to this “restaurant” if you’re looking to waste your money and ruin your taste. Really feel bad for the non-Indians who might be trying out in this restaurant, poor fellow don’t know what real food tastes like.

Edit for the answer to your list of unnecessary, baseless and rude questions:

The table for 12 was not a combined payment because there were 2 families: 6 of us and 6 of my friends’ family, hence the bill was splitted amongst us. Answer to you second question: YES We wanted to change tables because there was a dish washer right there a few feet from us washing dishes so loudly I couldn’t hear my father sitting right next to me. Then you came up to us a few seconds after another guy came saying that our fried rice will be there shortly despite the fact it came in 15 minutes later. And we hadn’t even tasted the food yet but the guy asked us whether everything is okay so I nodded yes since everything was there and the remaining was coming shortly. Then your next point says that nothing was left in plates and the remaining was packed as to-go. As I already mentioned we had been driving for hours so we were tired and hungry, and a hungry person is more concerned about getting his hungry stomach rather than good taste. We packed the rest because of your heavenly expensive price WHICH WAS PAID IN FULL WITHOUT ANY QUESTIONS. Then since you didn’t want feedback and felt a hurt on your ego, tried to nitpick the pointless points out. YOU DONT DESERVE A SINGLE STAR BUT GOOGLE WONT GO ANY LESS THAN THAT. Try improving your food rather than your ego. There was no cap,...
