I took my mom to lunch this afternoon for an early Mother's Day treat. The food was great (and the reason for two stars instead of one), but the service left a lot to be desired.
Our server, I believe her name was Carol, was not very friendly at all. She didn't smile and she seemed like she did not want to be there at all. When our bill arrived, the amount for the pizza was more than listed in the menu by a few dollars. I asked the server about it, she said, "I don't know," took the bill, and walked off. A young guy then came out with my bill and a menu. I assume that he was a manager as he did not introduce himself. He explained the discrepancy, but admitted that the menu was confusing and could see how the misunderstanding occurred. The bill was eventually fixed and the server brought it back out. I placed my credit card in the tray with the bill and moved it to the edge of the table. The server walked past it at least twice (with nothing in her hands), so I took it to the front cash register to pay.
The cashier then walked it into the kitchen area and gave it to the server to process. The manager said that they don't ring dine-ins at the front register because money "disappears". OK, then. You inconvenience customers because you have thieves working there? Got it. The server then brings my card and receipt up to the front. I signed the receipt and, as I was about to put my credit card back in my wallet, I realized it was covered in the server's greasy fingerprints. This woman is serving food to people? Gross. Luckily, I had hand sanitizer because I didn't see any on the counter at the register. I had to spray my card down and wipe it off before putting it away. My mom is very non-confrontational and doesn't ever comment on bad service and even she was appalled and had some choice words about the experience. Happy Mother's Day from LaRosa's Hamilton!
EDIT: My review had a response from the owner directing me to a website to enter my order information so they could do their "best to make this right!" Read moreI visited this location today and was left somewhat disappointed. The service itself wasn't bad. Our waiter was named Joey and he was very helpful to me in regards to my gluten and dairy allergies. However, I was very surprised that while many Larosa's stores carry gluten free pizza crusts, for some reason this location still does not. No problem. I figured i could just order like I do at Cici's Pizza- a no dough pizza in a bowl. So i ordered my no dough in a BOWL, and a large salad. The salad was decent sized and good. But however, i was annoyed when my pizza came out. It wasn't in a bowl. They threw a thin (very, very thin) layer of toppings on the flat, metal serving tins that they bring your pizza out on. Because it was cooked like this, the edges of the pizza (toppings), were burnt onto the pan, so that the only edible part was the very middle of the pizza. It was already a very small portion as is, but now I could eat even less. If you have gluten allergies, it's not worth the money. I spent $14 for a tiny handful of toppings and a salad comprised of lettuce, onion, and tomatoes. Save your money and go to Cici's pizza where they bake your pizza in an actual bowl, and you can eat as much as you want. I left starving, and had to drive through Sonic. Not a good...
Read morePlaced a delivery order. Had a coupon code for $5 hoagy or calzones. Had to get a manager because operator couldn't get the coupon code to go through. Manager Janay finally got code to go through. I told her I would be paying cash for the tip. When the delivery girl got to the house and went to hand her the tip she said oh the call center already added a $10 tip. I didn't authorize a tip to be added to my card, I believe this is fraud. I gave the girl the cash and told her I wanted the tip off my card. She said she will tell her store manager. I called back the call center because I couldn't find a number directly to the store. I asked for the manager I gave her my name , Janay again she said she will take the tip off, I REALLY hope she does !!, or there is going to be a problem. I couldn't believe someone took it upon themselve to add a charge to someone's credit card. I always top and tip well. Better check your receipts ppl. Won't be ordering Larosa anymore unless...
