Horrendous Service & Missing Order - A Complete Letdown (Hammond, LA) My recent visit to Church's Chicken in Hammond, LA on Sunday, June 29th, was an absolute disaster. I placed an online order for 4:11 PM, expecting to pick it up promptly. Instead, I endured a 50-minute wait, finally getting my order at 5:01 PM. This isn't just a long line; it's a clear failure in managing online orders and customer expectations. When I finally received my bag after multiple inquiries, it was obvious the food had been sitting for a long time – condensation had already formed inside. Rushing home to feed my kids, I discovered that ALL my sides were missing, along with two of the four pies. This is completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, when I returned to the store for a refund, I was told they couldn't process it in-store and I'd have to call a "survey number." I witnessed a young African American manager trying to get a real solution, but another manager simply shut her down, telling her to give me the survey number. This shows a complete lack of accountability and customer care. The app itself offered no way to request a refund, likely because the location just reopened – another critical flaw. It's astonishing that a company would implement such a broken system that directly harms the customer experience. This wasn't just my issue; I'm sure many others faced similar problems. To have staff just shrug their shoulders when customers are missing food and can't get a refund is terrible business. Avoid this Hammond, LA location until they sort out their processes and...
Read moreWe LOVE Church's chicken and since we don't have one in our hometown, we always stop at this location when we're in Hammond--and we always place a large order. However the service is EXTREMELY spotty. You're probably okay with getting your order during the day, but their evening/night service is hit or miss (mostly miss). The website says they close at 10, but the doors will often be locked much earlier than that. We actually left the SLU game early because we wanted to be sure to get there before they closed (not knowing whenever the decide to lock the doors). We got there at 8:30. The drive through menu wasn't lit and there were no lights over it, so we tried to enter and the doors were locked. We could see people inside and saw cooked chicken, so we had to ASSUME that they were only taking drive through orders and that's what we did. We originally wanted to purchase 3 of the 10 piece mild dark specials, but they told us they only had enough to make 2 and one had to be spicy. Could they not cook more chicken when they were technically supposed to be open for another hour and a half?? We asked the man working the window and all he said was he wasn't the manager....poor way to do...
Read moreWhy does churches in Hammond Louisiana taste better than churches in Brookshire TX? Is it because the chicken tastes like it was cooked within the last 15 minutes? Is it because the chicken is hot and juicy? Is it a different kind of chicken? Maybe it has to do with the time of day that I showed up.
The sides all tastes the same. 2 out of 5 stars. But the chicken is definitely better in Louisiana. I have the definite feeling that it has something to do with how recently the chicken was cooked.
I guess it could also be because this is Easter Sunday in the south. And while most of you are congregating with family, eating a large meal. Some of us who are thousands of miles away from home are eating churches, Texas chicken in Hammond Louisiana.
Thank you to all the hard-working people at this store. I truly do appreciate...
