Eddie's Famous Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Hammond

I went to Eddie’s yesterday on February 3rd around 8pm with a big group and the service was horrible. One of the worst experiences I have ever had with Eddie’s and I have been a loyal customer for 2 years. My older brother asked for a strawberry shortcake custard and was told that they don’t make custards which was very confusing being that I come all the time to get a strawberry shortcake custard. My younger sister asked for a banana pudding custard and was told that they can only do a banana pudding concrete, she asked the girls nicely to not add any banana in the concrete but yet they still did.Shortly after that my youngest brother asked for the flavor of the day which was a king cake and he wanted it as a custard and was always told that they can only do it as a concrete. I asked for a scoop of vanilla ice cream on a waffle cone with caramel, pecans, and oreos on top. There were people that ordered after us getting their ice cream before ours, also when it was time for me to get my order one of the girls slammed a vanilla sundae with the toppings I asked for on the counter. I politely explained that it was supposed to be on a waffle cone and the girl snatched it back and rolled her eyes. I always noticed NO ONE was wearing gloves. There was always a line wrapped around outside and it was packed inside. Eddie’s need the older people working there again that were always nice and greeted you with a smile back and not these young lady’s with attitudes. I was very disappointed and most likely won’t...

We thought the employee with the ginger hair was just having a bad day, but every time we come in, she has the most aggressive and belligerent attitude. She always slams the ice cream cups onto the counter and has no personality or willingness to help guests or other coworkers. I asked for a cup carrier and she turned around and stomped away to grab it without saying anything and then shoved it in my face. She might as well just spit in everyone’s orders. She’s not handcuffed to the front counter- if customer service isn’t for you, you’re more than welcome to go somewhere else. It doesn’t help that she seems to have been there a long time, judging by how often she’s working. I think Eddie’s is some of the best ice cream in this area, but I’d rather go anywhere else than continue to be treated the way I have at this establishment...

I'm so disappointed. We were so excited to come back to Eddies. When we arrived the baby had fallen asleep so we thought let's just do drive through. We got in drive through line at 8:30. At 845 a gal came out and put cones behind the car two cars in front of me and started to walk inside without explanation, to my sister in the car in front of me, my car or the car behind me. I flagged her down and asked what was up and she said ohh we close the drive through at 8:50. Mind you it was 8:45 but non the less- you cant put the cones behind the last car in line?! I had just spent 15 minutes waiting in line to be turned away. She said we could come in...but now we were going to be last in line and we had a sleeping baby.
