We were a table of 2 and the only customers in the restaurant. After approximately 45 minutes (not exactly sure because we didn’t time our visit until we had to refer to our phone calls near the time of our visit) we had only gotten our drinks, and 1 soup and salad that went with the hibachi dinners we ordered. After waiting for this extended period of time, I finally approached the man who was standing behind the counter and kindly inquired about how much longer it would take to get our food. I walked away with no answers, and after a few minutes, I approached and asked again. The man told me another 5-7 minutes. I knew we wouldn’t have time to eat so I attempted to explain that we had to leave to go pick a child up from school, however, I was ignored by the man. During our extended wait time, the server would only step out briefly then go back into the kitchen without acknowledging us. It was clear the man behind the counter didn’t care to talk to us and neither did our server. They did, however, talk amongst themselves from time to time. I returned to the table and sat for a few moments and after discussing what we had to do to get to the school on time, we decided that since we couldn’t get any help from the staff, we would leave cash on the table to cover the drinks, etc. We stood and I told the man we had to leave. As we were leaving, the female server who had stepped out told us we needed to pay for our drinks. We informed her the cash was on the table and we left. Note: We’ve eaten here several times in the past. The food was good at times and decent other times. The soup has different tastes from one visit to the next. We’ve always had acceptable service, never great, but nothing like the terrible service this time. Other than the man telling me “5-7 minutes”, we were never acknowledged by any of the staff after receiving the first portion of our meal, and never communicated with about our meals that we never received. It’s very clear the Kyoto staff didn’t care and that customer service was meaningless to them today. The server made sure she was going to get money for those...
Read moreThe service was terrible! I ordered a Sesame Chicken COCA COLA Combo to go, but was not allowed to get a drink unless I paid extra. I showed her the menu where it clearly stated drink included, but still was not allowed a drink. I did not argue with her, I just didn’t get a drink. I can only assume she did not want to believe me because I am Black. Then when I ate the food it was definitely not worth the money. If you are into Hibachi/Japanese food as much as I am, please don’t eat here! Just wait until you can make it to New Orleans where the REAL Japanese food is. I will never eat here again especially after I pretty much was called a lie to my face about a drink being included in my meal. And the food...
Read moreNice little Japanese restaurant with a comfortable atmosphere for a strip mall business. Take out and dine in. Sushi bar has only a few seats. Good menu and reasonable prices. $$ range. We got a mix of Japanese and Chinese to sample. The Shrimp Tempura was good with nice sized shrimp and generous vegetables. The Tong Tso dish was also good. It wasn't the typical strip mall take-out type you normally find. The flavor was unique and smelled fantastic during preparation. The egg rolls were good but not outstanding. We opted for the salad to go with the entres. It was adequate but not exciting. The entres made up for that. We will go back and I...
