I've been going to Mariner's for 40 years, but tonight was the last time. It's always had good food, good drinks and good service. None of that happened tonight, I won't be back. We were never greeted at the door or shown to a table. After standing there for several minutes we walked to the back assuming it would be a little quieter. We sat down and waited another 10 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge us with more than a nod. She brought our waters out and proceeded to take a large groups order next to us and put their order in. We then waited for another 15 minutes or so for her to show back up to take our order. Our soup and salad came out in a respectable amount of time considering how busy they were, then things went South. It took another 45 minutes for our food to come out and it was cold. My $20 "shrimp platter" looked like a kids plate. 15 or 18 tiny shrimp, soggy and cold, and two little lumps of hard bread. My wife's chicken fettuccine, you guested it, stone cold. They asked if we wanted something else and I said no just the check for the soup and salad. Then she proceeded to bring several other servers to the table to try and make things better (or a manger to comp the soup and salad). There was no way to make things better at this point, I wanted my check. When they finally agreed to get the check, it was another long delay. THEN on top of it all the waitress had the nerve to pop off to my wife on our way out. If the food had just came out hot, I wouldn't have even complained, but at that point we had been there an hour and 20 minutes and I was done. I'm kinda sad, but more mad, I'm done...
Read moreI ordered fish and shrimp plate it’s was too soft and greasy. I went to the counter and told another waitress I can’t eat that. So she asked me did I want anything else besides that or take it off my ticket. I told her to take it off my ticket. About five minutes later the African American waitress stated to me that the manager will not take this off my ticket. I told her if I have to pay for it I need it made over and I need to talk to the manager. So the manager came and told me it wasn’t anything wrong with it and they will not remove this off my ticket. So I told the manager to remake I don’t want my food fried hard nor greasy. So the African American waitress stated kept walking back and forth to see what I’m saying to the manager and I politely told her why are you walking back and forward to the table now when you guys came to the table to get our order and bring our food. Never asked us do we need a refill. So she got aggressive in front the manager and customer. Instead of the manager telling her to leave she pushing her back like the waitress was about to come hit me. So the waitress told me to leave and I told her fine are you gonna pay for my food then. She stated that she was about to call the police. I told her to call them. A few minutes later the waitress walked by the table started picking that’s when I really got upset and told her come back by this table picking again I’m slide you under that table. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody and we came her to celebrate my...
Read moreI read several reviews before penning my own, and going to Mariner's Inn is akin to a roll of the 🎲: You either love it or loathe it. My sentiments skew towards the latter.
We were greeted promptly on arrival, and the server took our orders. Two sweet teas, one water, one cheeseburger cooked medium with a side of veggies, and one order of mozzarella sticks.
The cheeseburger arrived first with shredded American 🧀 that was not melted on the patty. When I took a bite, I noticed two things: The burger lacked flavor (thank God for the onions), and the temperature was closer to rare. The mozzarella sticks were all right, but the side of veggies (yellow squash, squash zucchini, and onions) was another letdown due to lackluster flavor.
We reminded our server about our cheese sticks and extra sweet tea after I received my burger (I think they forgot to put it in), but this was quickly fixed and brought to our table. As an added benefit, we weren't charged for those items.
The atmosphere was as expected, and I don't have strong negative or positive thoughts. I also didn't notice a smell as other reviews have noted.
Since this is my only experience with Mariner's Inn, I can't recommend them. However, feel free to...
