We’ve been going to The SteakHouse for the past 5 years. I don’t know what happened with the service and atmosphere, but it has extremely gotten worse.
The last 3 visits were terrible. The food has always been good, that isn’t the problem here. The issue is with service, management, and atmosphere.
The last visit we had was on December 31st, 2024. We made it our yearly treat to celebrate New Years with a good expensive meal.
Never again will we eat at an establishment that will give reserved tables away that were booked a week in advance and receive subpar service for a $250 bill for 2 people.
How the evening went: We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation. We were greeted with a friendly smile by the hostess.
We gave the name for the reservation. (we knew exactly what table we reserved) The hostess goes to sit us at the table (which had a reserved sign on it.) As we approach the table, the hostess stops and apologizes after realizing someone had recently been sat at our reserved section. They were sipping on wine. No food yet, so this meant they had recently sat down.
She then cleans off a different table in the corner behind the bar next to our reserved table.
I let it slide without making a complaint. I could tell the hostess was just as surprised as us.
We sit at the table for approximately 14 minutes before our server shows up with 2 waters.
This server was also serving the customers who took our reserved tables (their section). She completely ignores us the entire dining experience. Only stopping by a total of 3 times.(To get us some alcohol, appetizers, and main course)
On multiple occasions, not only did the server go up to this “VIP” table, so did the management, asking how their evening is going. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out this couple was a “special” guest and was given our reserved table. (Probably a management decision I’m sure). Management probably told the server to also cater to them over other tables.
I know they did not spend more than we did given the choice of wine and entrees. They might have spent $120 at max.
I tipped the server $50 (even though they did not deserve it)
They won’t get my business ever again.
You don’t give away someone’s reserved table and then ignore them. It’s bad business.
I will NOT recommend this restaurant any longer to friends, family,...
Read moreRead moreFilet chili - perfectly cooked. Just spicy enough to make my sinuses clear out. Might be too spicy for some, not enough for others. Brandy Alexander - not mixed well at all. Not enough chocolate flavor even though they used godiva. Got to the end and sudden strong flavor of brandy. Okay, not the worst I've had, not the best. New York strip - tender and full of flavor. I ordered medium rare and it came out medium medium. Even though it was cooked more than I typically like, I loved every bite. Spouse stated: "Salad - blue cheese dressing on romaine. Clean and good portion. Lacking in croutons dressing was tasty. Ribeye steak - was tender but slightly more well done than requested, but tasty. Sauteed mushrooms - were good but slightly firmer than my preferred. Would still border again." Customer service - excellent. Waitstaff was attentive without hovering. Willing to have a brief conversation when prompted without neglecting other tables. My water glass never went more than one minute empty. We arrived fifteen minutes early for our reservation and we were shown to our table within seven minutes. Bathrooms - fantastic. Clean, well appointed. I particularly appreciate the mouthwash and toothpicks available in the bathroom. Atmosphere - particularly loved the candlelight throughout the restaurant. Sufficient lighting to see without being overly bright which allowed for a romantic evening. Price - slightly high for the alcoholic drink, I've had brandy Alexander that cost $7.50 that tasted better with lesser quality ingredients so $9 for the drink was a bit steep, although Godiva is more expensive than normal chocolate liquore so that may be part of the difference. Steak prices were reasonable. The price for the cup of chili was on the high side by about $1, so not outrageous. Prices overall were slightly higher than expected but the taste of the steak more than made up for it, as well as...
I don't know what happened to this place. It used to be one of our favorites. The last 3 times we've been, the food has taken longer and longer to arrive. This time we waited 55 minutes for our entrees and there were only 2 other tables of patrons - one of those was two women that appeared to be off-duty employees as one of them kept walking in and out of the kitchen. It took 10 minutes for our server to make first-contact. The salads and appetizer came out in a not quick but reasonable time. I used to love the Filet Cheesesteak Eggrolls but have stopped ordering them as the last few times they contained no detectable cheese. We tried the scallop appetizer which turned out to be 3 laughably tiny scallops for like 14 bucks - they tasted OK. After that - we waited and waited and waited for our main dishes. The server kept returning to our table every few minutes to ask if everything was OK - while we were clearly starting at no food on the table except our ciabatta roll which was getting colder by the minute. At the 50 minute point I confronted the server about the wait and ask if would could get a replacement roll since, by then, ours was ice cold. She brought one and not only charged for us for it but also charged an extra $1 for butter. This place used to have the absolute best steak in town but my filet ordered medium, came medium well(which I can deal with) but was also completely black charred. The charred taste was overwhelming and there seemed to be no other seasoning. My wife's crabcakes (she ordered as her entree) were good but not worth the wait. No apologies, no manager approached to address our concerns. Management, please fix this. We'd like to continue to have you in our restaurant...
