1)The restaurant is extremely dirty. 2)Sushi was fresh & yummy 3)The sesame chicken app was terrible 4)Our Server Nicholas & The Sushi are my only compliments. 5)The only reason why I mark 3 stars for service solely because of Nicholas.
Our Hibachi experience was the worst i've ever experienced in the past 30 years of eating at different hibachi grills!
Our Hibachi Chef presents himself, pulls out a crumbly old looking piece of paper that our order was written down by our waiter not twenty minutes before. He ask everybody how they want their temp on meat, then he ask who ordered the white rice and proceeded to cut a onion, put Each slice, which was only two, on top of each other & lit it on fire. And that was it, Nothing else didn't, say a word to us.
The person who ordered the white rice that was the ten year old birthday boy that came out of town to visit his family, Do you think he got to enjoy his white rice? No, he didn't because chef just didn't make any. As the chef was cleaning the grill, I made a comment to the birthday boy & asked him, "Would you like to throw one of our shrimps in your mouth? So you can enjoy your hibachi experience for your birthday?" The kid is the reason why we went there, (he picked out Kirin.) It's his favorite place So the chef is listening to me and he takes the Lard that he has on his spatula, Presents Towards my nephew's face and says, "You want me to throw this in your mouth?"
*The worst part of this experience was the fact that all of our food was undercooked. He literally handed everybody two under cooked shrimp out of my mom's shrimp order and then handed her a plate of raw shrimp.
There was nothing that took place as entertainment at our hibachi. (A Table, that Paid at well over 300$)
If it weren't for Nicholas, we probably all would have just got up & walk out after ordering at least 40$ worth of drinks since we got to the restaurant waiting for a table.
*P.S. The restaurant is incredibly dirty. You can tell that the floors have not been "properly" Mopped, possibly never. Women's restroom is pretty torn up with dirty toilets, nothing sanitary.
Kirin is not the same as when it first...
Read moreThe absolute strangest and rudest experience I have EVER had in a restaurant.
Me and two friends were swimming and after one of them wanted to get dinner and spoke really highly of the buffet here so we went.
Upon arriving we all got menus, pretty standard. One friend wanted the all you can eat sushi for $26 and spoke highly of it and two of us wanted the hibachi items.
Sadly, our server Nicholas explained we couldn't order hibachi where we were sitting. Okay, no problem. We closed the check (rude) and carried out drinks to the hibachi area (again, rude).
So, now we were seated in the hibachi area and again, two of us started to order hibachi and one friend wanted the all you can eat sushi for $26. At this point the waitress said --. Sadly-- they couldn't do sushi where we were sitting now. So we left.
As we left one of us complained and the teenage wait staff said we "didn't understand how restaurants work". I have never heard of literally not being able to order items that are on the menu in a restaurant because you're sitting in the wrong place. Maybe the two sides of the restaurant should have different menus, or maybe it should just be two completely different restaurants. Why do they give you a menu with things on it you can't order if you sit less than 10 feet away? Anyway, like I said, a very...
Read moreI live around the Hammond area and I have always enjoyed Kirin but as of last night, I refuse to ever eat there again. I had reservations for 10 people, some who were from out of town. I was informed that one person would need to be there to claim the table. I was there 10 minutes early and the hostess told me that as soon as another member of my party arrived I could be seated. Five minutes later, My friend and her husband showed and I informed the hostess. At this time, "the owner" told me that my entire party would need to be there before he would seat me. I then proceeded to tell him what was told to me and he immediately told me that he would not serve me. I was floored and my friend was shocked also. This statement was left field. My friend then asked him to explain the reason we could not be served and he shooed her away and told us to get out of his restaurant. This all happened in the waiting area, where others were waiting also. I have never been so embarrassed in my life and i couldn't fathom a reason for him to kick us out other than our race. The food is good but I will never eat here again. If you support racist establishments, then be my guest but if you stand for equality and people not being thrown out like common criminals then this is not the...
