I've been eating here since they used to be located in the old Essexville mall!
If you're looking for somewhere that has great food, a good price, and awesome portions, try out Mandarin House in Essexville. It's worth it. I've ordered so many things from here and I'm never disappointed. One order (our most common is princess chicken, comes with soup, rice, 1 egg roll & we always order their yummy crab cheese-which ends up being something like $12 total) ONE order feeds a family of 2 adults plus 1 child. Their egg rolls are amazing! I used to live near them and we'd do take-out a couple times a month. Man do I miss it.
However I'm not a huge fan of their buffet. The buffet crab cheese isn't the same as what you'd order off the menu, but i think that's pretty common. You just don't get very many options from the buffet. But ordering from the menu is a way better deal anyway, in my opinion! It's great!
When I order take out, they always always always get it right.. And they are friendly which is huge plus. The restaurant is always clean and the server's have always been very pleasant. A+++...
Read moreDefinitely not the greatest Chinese buffet I have been to. Resteraunt is dingy and worn with the same basic decor as the previous resteraunt. (Closed ten years ago) Service is decent, but the small buffet leaves alot to be desired. Last visit there were four fried chicken chunk in a slightly different red syrupy sauce, two beef dishes that tasted the same and one seafood dish. Spring rolls and pork egg rolls sat out too long and were slightly above room temperature. Fried Green beans were nice as well as a thick egg drop soup that went down really well. Menu items are fresher and come in very large portions. (an excellent value for the money) Take out portions and quality are good, but be sure to check your order before you leave as there is a chance your order will be wrong. I think the kitchen and management need...
Read moreDo not get the egg rolls here, tastes like the inside of a cabinet, also the Singapore noodles aren't very edible, just very dry. We are new in the area, and didn't know what items were popular. So we took a blind guess, but based on the food that we received, about 70% of the food on the menu is never ordered. However, the crab meat cheese wontons were delicious. The lady upfront was nice, but because I didn't call back that day, and I took a little too long to call them back, they wouldn't work with us in any way. I also had the receipt to give to them but they politely declined to make up for the inedible food.
Just wish that they had a dozen of options to choose from, versus the 70 items on their menu, so that they can concentrate on making the quality food that the regulars around here...
