I would have rated this all 5 for all areas, but there was one man who was quite rude. One of the workers or host, i'm not sure what his title was, but after my friend and I spending nearly $200.00 in food and drinks at the bar area where we were sitting, and after being there already for over 1 hour, he then approaches my friend and I saying we need to leave because a live band that was already up there playing for about 10 minutes was about to perform. I had already been cheering them on, which they appreciated while they set up. I was already in, and we were already finishing our food and drinks. And my friends dish which clearly was not fresh, frozen fish that seemed to have been just tossed in the microwave at the price we paid, and we didn't give a hard time about how horrible his food tasted. He is a chef, too, so that wasn't a good hit. So, then I explained to the man that we were still finishing our food and drinks, and after paying all that money and being there for over an hour, "do we really have to leave?" He said rudley, "Yes, unless you want to pay $30.00 each at the door. " He was rude. even with my friends' food not being fresh, we were enjoying ourselves very much. I don't understand why we weren't informed of the band prior to entering and how there may be an additional charge later or upon entering. It also wasn't what he was saying it was how he was saying it. Then I saw him rudely stand someone up that I was small talking with throughout the experience next to my friend, and he did so suddenly and without warning. They carried him outside. The young man had drinks in him, but he was quiet and not making a scene. The way he abruptly lifted him was uncalled for and made more of a scene than needed. It ruined my experience. For what we paid, I don't see myself returning. The bar tending area, the bar tenders, and my food were great. That one man...
Read moreWe were there on a Thursday. It was super hot!!! (105 heat index) Beach Day…All Day!!! We decided to take our wet selves and wander over to the wonderfully welcoming Bernie’s Beach Bar. Glad we did… The clam chowder made a powerful statement with its thick slice of bacon swimming over the buttery pool of chowder. Adding the roasted corn and bacon added enough of a variation to this dish making it enjoyable to any clam chowder newbie. The clams were also very tender and the ratio of potatoes to bacon to clams was perfect. We also had the lobster sliders…The buttery crisp croissant made the dish unique and flavorful.
Did I mention we like to drink? Ever since I went to Aruba at 16 years of age, I had been searching for the certain taste of the Rum Punch I enjoyed there. I found it at Bernie’s. Their Rum Runner has just the right kick and the juices they used tasted very fresh. The prices were reasonable, the service was exceptional, and the views were immaculate. Although, this was our most expensive dining experience of the week, we went again the next day for more sliders, clam chowder, and of course the Rum Runner. Service and food were equally as good as the previous day.
At these visits, we noticed five different employees/servers caring for us at our table. One employee sat us, another took our order, another brought our food, another cleared our plates, and another asked if we were ready for our bill. All this occurred systematically and smoothly at all the Fleury establishments including Bernie's. The Fleury team must be shown appreciation for their efforts. Otherwise, this type of service I experienced is not...

Party of 5
Calamari appetizer had about 3 pieces of calamari per person for $17+ tax. (Calamari is very cheap for food cost). Tasted fine, could have been cooked a bit longer
Baked stuffed haddock was $28 for 8oz of haddock with a scoop of stuffing. (Again, haddock is a much cheaper fish) stuffing tasted fine, mostly upset with portion size and appearance as it looked like it was stuffed in a portion cup and the topped on the haddock.
Teriyaki steak and cheese was good, nothing I would say is worth the price.
Steak tips were good, $35. What I would expect for being on the beach
Burger was typical and priced as if you are paying a premium for the beach.
Cocktails were $17 for a drink served in a 12 oz plastic cup. Kind of ridiculous. A skinny margarita was served in a 8oz plastic cup, usually used for serving wine in. Also $17. 12 oz beer for $9 served in a plastic cup.
Bill for 5 of us, 3 beers, 2 cocktails, 1 appetizer, and 4 entrees/sandwiches was $250.
On the bill was a $7 charge labeled as “surcharge”.
Asked the waitress about this and she explained because they didn’t not increase prices from last year for food, there is a surcharge added to the bill. This is increasing the prices without telling customers. This is also very illegal. Not the servers fault at all, but definitely scamming thousands of customers with extra charges not disclosed anywhere on their menu. Not only are their prices already ridiculously outrageous, even for being on the beach, but they are sneaking extra charges into your bill without disclosing this. (Prices would be fine if portions...
