L Street Tavern 603 — Restaurant in Hampton

Extremely disrespectful and unprofessional security accused me of having a fake ID multiple times after looking at it under his black light. “This ID is fake” in a very rude tone. He never explained his reasoning and after correctly answering multiple test questions he asked regarding my information he accused me once more. “I know this is fake, tell me now or I will go inside to run it in the scanner”. I told him go ahead and do it! After about 5 minutes he came back out, did not look at me, speak to me, or give me my ID back. He gave my ID to the other security right in front of us and said “they are good” and swiftly walked away immediately. I made a comment about his attitude to the other bouncer and he said “he’s good”. No it is not good, after such comments and poor behavior I was at the least expecting an apology. As soon as we sat down he was right back up front, appears he was embarrassed and did not want to own up to his mistake and inappropriate behavior. On a positive note I did enjoy the cool outside setup, the bartender was friendly and the drink did taste good. Unfortunately the start to our visit ruined our experience. I would have understood if he said he had to just go run it in the machine quickly to make sure it was okay but to make such accusations/comments in front of other guests and in such a rude way was unacceptable. Especially to not even own up to the mistake...

I first came here several years ago, and I went again recently & this place has seemed to change quite a bit, atmosphere wise. I remember when I went with my family as a child, it was more of a restaurant/bar, now it's basically a bar, with outdoor seating as well. Anyhow, we called to place an order to go after reviewing the online menu while vacationing. We ordered two Angus burgers, as well as macaroni & cheese. The person who took my order over the phone was very polite & friendly. She told me it would be about 15 mins, so we began walking from our hotel room, which was about a 15 min walk, when I arrived, the food wasn't ready yet. An obviously different person who waited on me in person told me that it would be a bit longer, so I went outside to smoke after paying for our order & after a few minutes, she brought the food out to me. Burgers were great, mac & cheese was also very good. Fries came with the burgers that were also good. Food & prices were excellent, but I didn't give 5 stars because our order wasn't ready when they said it would be. However, it was only an additional 5 mins or so maybe. But I was told 15 over the phone. Not a huge deal though. Would...

We had an issue with Justine the bartender who was rude and was inconsistent with the drinking policy at L street. We had ordered a drink meant for 2 people but once we finished she refused service saying we had finished the drink too early and she could not serve us even though the other bartender was willing to serve with no issue and made the drink already. We had a large group of 9 in total. Apparently, she has a reputation of this power trip, rolling of eyes, and being very rude to customers per other establishments in the area. Wow! The whole neighborhood knows of her and reputation of rudeness. We are local and year round, and have frequented L street so many times, so we closed our tab so not to deal with her and her rude behavior., but will not be returning due to inconsistent and rude service from bartender Justine. The drinks and atmosphere was great as usual, but was unfortunate that we had a bad experience from her who was on a power trip. We will probably reconsider L street going forward as we are usually regulars but not anymore. Sad, we cannot support a local business… and its business partners.
