Kings Seafood — Restaurant in Hampton

Make no mistake this is primarily a takeout place. It is not fancy. I had the shrimp and the chicken gizzard with french fries. The shrimp were butterflied and the coating was quite good. There are not many places that serve chicken gizzards and the coating on these gizzards was also quite good. There is a small refrigerated counter with trays of food and ice but it's hard to tell what's in the trays. The prices were okay and the five-star rating is for the food only and has nothing to do with how the place looks. While I was there waiting for my food at least five other people came in for either telephone orders or ordered at the counter. Best fried seafood ever. I ordered the "king seafood special" and it was delicious! I could tell the ingredients were fresh, and the oil used to fry them were clean. Everything was cooked to perfection and it was worth every penny!

As a side note, the owner used to be a pro-soccer player in Korea. Ironically, he never really liked seafood himself; It was actually his wife's dream to run the seafood restaurant. He is continuing to fulfill his wife's dream even after her passing. What a romantic chef, right? No wonder he is using only the fresh seafood and work diligently to keep up the good quality.

The food was PHENOMENAL! DO NOT LET THE PUTRID SMELL OF THIS PLACE TURN YOU AWAY!!! The smell is the live fish.
