If you're in Hampton, VA, and looking for a quick, delicious meal, Zaxby’s is a good choice. They are located in a good area and the drive-thru line always seems to move quickly, which is a plus when you're in a hurry. The customer service is always good. I can honestly say I've never had a problem with the employees at the drive through window—very friendly and kind.
I’ve ordered food through the drive-thru several times, and I’ve never really had any major issues with my food. The food is always on point, although I do feel the prices are a bit high for fast food. Still, it’s hard to complain when the quality of the food is really good. On this particular visit, I ordered the salad with fried chicken and ranch, and it was excellent. The chicken was crispy, the salad mix was fresh, the tomatoes were juicy, and the ranch dressing was creamy.
I usually order the Zaxby’s sweet and spicy wings because they are a personal favorite of mine. They are always cooked just right, with a nice balance of heat and sweetness. As for the Texas Toast, I’m just not a fan, so I usually just toss it aside, but it’s included with the salads and most of the meals.
I'm giving this restaurant a 4 out of 5 star review because, although I've had great experiences here, on one particular visit I ordered and paid for 10 chicken tenders, but when I got home, I only received 8. I was missing two chicken tenders, which sucked because I always want to get what I paid for. But it was a lesson learned—now I always double-check my food before leaving the drive-through.
Overall, I’m mostly satisfied with my orders from the Zaxby’s in Hampton, Virginia. If you’re in the area and craving some good traditional wings or salad, this spot is worth a stop. Just be prepared for the slightly higher prices, but for the food quality and fast service, it’s...
Read moreToday; on my way home from work. I stopped by Zaxbys on Todds Lane to grab dinner. After ordering my food, I went to the window to pay . When I got to the window, I gave the woman at the window a $20.00 bill. After closing the window, she came back to tell me that the $20.00 bill was a fake. I then explained to her that the money was not fake as I just retrieved the money from a nearby bank. Soon after, her manager came to the window to see what was going on. He then ran the money through a machine twice, stating that it was a fake and that because of company policy, he had to keep it. We began to exchange words back and forth, at which time I told him , I am Veteran, who currently works for the Federal government, that's over six figures a year and would never jeopardize my career over a so called counterfeit 20 dollar bill. He then stated that I could either come inside to discuss or I could call the cops at which time I did. The cop arrived, at which time i explained the situation. He went inside and shortly came back outside stating that the employees told him that one manager told to keep the money, whereas some one from higher up said that they were to give me my money and suggest that I pay with another form of currency. It is a sad day and an embarrassment when a customer has to call the cops to retrieve their hard-earned money. Yes, it was only $20.00's, but it's the principle. The attitude that I received was unacceptable as if I was kind of criminal. It should never happen not...
Read moreOk so, I visit this Zaxby’s quite often! More often that normal or average. This is GOOD team, and great store, and the have a manager there, he’s a light skin tall guy with black hair, and always wears a bandanna, HE IS THE BEST! He’s probably better than everybody else lol. HOWEVER.. this store has a BAD HABIT of closing when they get ready! I have come on several occasion 20-15 minutes before closing.. Now, I have worked at Zaxby’s and other fast food before personally, so I know the feeling of being ready to go home, in hopes that you’ll be out the door not to far from closing time.. HOWEVER, in the food industry, that is no guarantee and the customers needs should be fulfilled first. I went there tonight, got there at 10:45 pm (close at 11:00pm), I asked for a hot meal; and the young man told me “Nah we trynna clean up”.. Understandable, but 1: That is BEYOND unprofessional, and 2: the store dosent close until 11!! And not to mention, 15 minutes is more than enough time to cook a couple meals! Trust me I know, because I have working in the kitchen! So there is no excuse for this, and they do it far too often! Obviously no one should make a habit of always trying to get food late at night, but sometimes you can’t help it, you might work late, or whatever.. but it’s there job to cook for customers until close. So a pray a manager or higher up will see this so they can critique this...
