Terrible room and the game master for our room was kind of ditzy. Don't waste your money here.
Terrible experience. Was so excited for my birthday. The rotary phone didn't work right (I'm old enough to know how to use a real one). It kept dialing after the second digit. So even though we had the number right we thought we didn't cuz it kept saying it didn't exist. Once we got it you couldn't hear the sound. The qualify was distorted and we thought there were clues in it so we kept trying to call it again. Apparently it was supposed to unlock a drawer but the spring lock didn't work. The drawer was stuck so we wasted more time on that before the game master had to come in and spend 2-3 mins getting it to work. She only added on the 3 mins she was helping us. Not want time for the fact the puzzles didn't work. And all we got as an "oh well we will try and fix it" for the next people. The heh didn't care their room was defective they were just happy to get their money from my 18 year old son who surprised me for my birthday. Absolutely trash
Editing. My "flagrant" behavior was an fbomb. I DO admit I shouldn't have used that word. I wasn't screaming, I have a loud voice. I wasn't in anyone's face. I was angry that I told the girl why I was upset and I got a ditzy "hmmm yea...... i see........ Yea well .... it happens ......." type of responses.
It was only when the second person came out. That I learned it has been issues.
I DID stand up for the fact they knowingly have faulty components in the room and asked WHY they release a room before it's working. And why they let people use a room that's having KNOWN issues. So yes I was irritated. At that point and wanted to convey my point.
Also adding. If you have heat intolerances do not use this room. I was so hot (I have a medical issue where I don't sweat) and it was absolutely miserable in that room. It's like trying to escape from fires the hell. I guess not having AC or ventilation is part of the thrill. Idk
Let's also go on and discuss how the owner continued to lie to me and make things up. In my Facebook messages -
her team said they KNEW there has been issues with the phone sound. They KNEW there has been issues with the drawer lock. The owner said I was the FIRST one to have issues in 5 months. She stood on the fact I'm the ONLY one to have issues. The ONLY one. The staff said they KNEW cuz it was an issue for others. So which is it? So much so that the team said the team before us also has issues with the lock.
The owner said 5 successful team have completed the room - the staff said 3.
The owner said the lock on the drawer malfunctions when it's not oiled properly and the team didn't oil it it properly. The team said they KNOW it has issues if it's not oiled so they did oil it well before we entered since the prior people also had trouble with it
This owner just can't tell the truth to save her life.
I did not ask for or expect a refund since we played the game. I simply felt they should have comped a few more minutes seeing how close to end we were so we could complete it. Period. My point is to have integrity and ensure if an issue results due to faulty components the people spending money to enjoy the room can enjoy it.
Edited again - so the owners goes onto their page and continues to spread misinformation and lies and blocks me from their page. So be it. I was not in anyone's face. I was not belligerent. I did not scream. I expressed how it was unacceptable to take someone's money knowing the room was not working correctly. I didn't continue to push it. I did not refuse to leave. I said my piece. I asked the questions I wanted answers to. I did say one fbomb cus I was just beside myself that they knew this room was trash and basically didn't see anything wrong with it. It shouldn't have opened if it wasn't ready. I then grabbed the cards for my son and I to take a pic said happy friggin birthday to me. And when she offered to take the pic for us I said "I don't want your help" so yes. I was apparently an absolute...
Read moreI travel from Utah several times a year to spend time with our grandchildren on their birthday. 2 years ago we took our 10 year old to the Great Estate burglary escape room. The clues were fine, it was engaging but we ran out of time before finding the "treasure". My main complaint about the Great Estate room is that it is incredibly dark so it is difficult to see some of the clues. Last year we took our 9 year old granddaughter to the Cafe escape room. We were making progress and with a few clues from staff, we made it to the last combo lock of numbers. The clue that was staged to determine the combo was wrong! They mixed up the fruit so there were too many oranges and not enough apples. That was frustrating but we figured mistakes can happen so we didn't make a fuss about it. This year we took our 9 year old granddaughter back to the Great Estate Burglary room. We were making progress and figuring out the clues HOWEVER, our clock/timer kept stopping so we would never know how much time we had life. It was way too dark in the room so I had to take out my cell phone and use the flashlight just to see the clues. One of the clues required us to put some cards under a red light bulb and we could barely make out the numbers on the clue card. We continued to make progress and found the safe with 8 MINUTES left on the clock (I think, the clock kept stopping so I'm not sure of the actual time). In any case, the given instructions for opening the safe with the given combo was ver y confusing and difficult to figure out. We had the correct numbers but every attempt to open the safe did not work. When our time was up, the worker at the facility even came into the room to give it a try and even SHE couldn't get it to open. We felt ripped off. Will not come back again after having 2 poor...
Read moreI am giving three stars for experience and because my daughter had fun. However, we were extremely frustrated by the end of our experience. This was our first trip and experience with an escape room. I dont think it should have gone the way it did. My daughter was extremely pleased with the first room, she was excited and wanted to do a second room. Twenty minutes into the second room, she just wanted to leave because she was upset her time was wasted.
Great Estate Burglary, our difficulty in this room was that our walkie talkie was not working and we tried several times to communicate with our gamemaster. We finally gave up on the walkie talkie and went looking for him on foot, having to leave the experience. Additionally, the directions given were to not move or push furniture, so we did not.
Cabin 11. As I informed the same gamemaster, the locks need to be changed out. This is a puzzle game, it is impossible to know whether you have the incorrect answer or the lock is broken. We had the correct answer the first 20 minutes but could not progress because of a broken lock. Finally having to ask for help, only to have him come in and tell us we had the correct answer, then fiddle with the lock until it opened himself. Mind you, our clock is still ticking.
At this point I feel as though I lost a considerable amount of time due to lack of upkeep. Progression was impeded by direction that should been worded better, and faulty equipment. I dont think it is hard to make sure the locks are in operation, especially when you're charging this much per person. IT IS A LOCK. Something so simple can ruin the...
