My $200 Mother’s Day catering order was ruined and all I got was a gift card for a complimentary meal for 2. I feel completely and totally SCAMMED after ordering the Buffet Style Homestyle Chicken n’ French Toast and the Tenders Trio Platter. The menu is astonishingly misleading by indicating the buffet style chicken and French toast would be enough to feed 10 people. The picture represented in on the menu clearly displays a large amount of French toast. So I was utterly stunned when I received my order and it only contained 10 slices of French toast. Each person would only receive one slice. I called the restaurant thinking that they just made a mistake and left part of my French toast order out of the delivery. However, I was told that 10 slices is the total amount allotted for the Buffet Style Chicken n’ French toast. After requesting to speak to a manager I was hung up on after being placed on hold for roughly 20 minutes. I’m unable to understand why the menu displays an ample number of French toast slices but there is no disclosure that a customer is only going to receive 10 slices. When ordering a single order of the Homestyle Chicken n’ French Toast from the menu, a customer is given 3 slices in their order. It doesn’t seem logical or fair to pay extra for a catering order and then have customers reduced to one slice per serving.
My order also only contained 2 miniature bottles of syrup to go along with my 10 slices of French toast. How is this sufficient? I’ve dined in Cracker Barrel before and had an overflowing amount of syrup placed at my table. Again, how does it seem fair to pay extra for a catering order and be reduced to 2 miniature bottles of syrup?
The tenders trio platter chicken was soggy and was not crisp whatsoever. The tenders also came with dipping sauces. Unfortunately, whoever packaged my order didn’t understand that the miniature cups of dipping sauces shouldn’t randomly be placed in a plastic bag. The kids to the dipping sauces came off after being placed haphazardly in the bag. The napkins and utensils in the bag were drenched in a variety of dipping sauces.
After being hung up on by my local restaurant and reaching out to customer service, I’m completely disappointed in the state of the order I placed. I’m even further concerned that more people will be misled by ordering a similarly expensive catering order. Ultimately, I’m even further let down my the manner Cracker Barrel has chosen to address...
Read moreLet me start off with this.. Cracker Barrel is completely falling apart 😢. Which is super sad to be honest after they've been Great & Good for so long. This is NOT the first HORRIBLE experience I've encountered in not even more than 1 month. First issue happened 2 weeks ago at the Portsmouth Blvd Location in Portsmouth in front of the Lowe's. Brought blueberry pancakes from there as well. The pancakes were cooked around the outside edges BUT rest of the pancakes were filled with UNCOOKED blueberries with a lump/glunk of gooey pancake filling/dough in the pancakes. Called the store to report it to the manager, who said come back up there to have them replaced. I went back to the location and my order was replaced. Ok you think it's over right, this issue, NOPE.... 😢 get back home and started eating the eggs 🥚 and hashbrown Casserole and while chewing teeth kept cruching on something, thought it was egg 🥚 shells. Put that out looked on the plate in light and it was ...... glass, pieces of ..... glass in the food that I was chewing.... Just SAD.... MORE THAN LIKELY RETALIATION! Oh and by the way I paid for the food so replacing it was me just getting what I paid for. Asked for a free meal card and was denied. REALLY THOUGH
Sorry but here's my second straight HORRIBLE encounter in a ROW. Monday November 28th, 2022, TODAY/TONIGHT, Well as you can imagine I told myself I wasn't going back to that Cracker Barrel Portsmouth location again smh... Today drove from Portsmouth where I live all the way to Hampton (Todds Ln) just to get better service/food, I can't make this stuff up, well I could but why take the time to write all this if I'm totally happy and not had horrible service. Ordered Blueberry pancakes 🥞 and they ALL were NOT cooked, totally fill with gooey yucky pancake dough/mix AGAIN, but to my amaze it's a different location, what gives. Got all the way home to find that out, they were closing at 10PM ET and it was 9 something wasn't making it back. Called the manager, had to wait 10 minutes to talk to her, explained the situation which she had a hard time believing. (Don't worry I have the pancakes and the pictures). Read moreMy husband and I came in About two p m on the fourth of july, When we came in, there was about 5 employees gathered around the house to stand and it took a couple of minutes before anybody realized that there was a customer standing there, the young woman went to check to see if there was a table and she came back and got us saddest in the far ayeah past the fireplace. And she gave us menus and left. And it was probably another 5 minutes before a waitress came and took our drink order, And then when she came back with her drinks, we ordered lunch. My husband ordered a chicken Sandwich that had lettuce, tomato bacon, and some sort of sauce. But when he got it, it didn't have the bacon. The lettuce was old and terrible looking, and the tomatoes were white. They weren't even red, which meant they were raw, so he told me. That the biggest thing for him was it was missing. The bacon I had gotten chicken and dumplings. The green beans and apples were to be expected. But the chicken and dumplings that I had been craving for about 2 months. And Cracker Barrel is about a 2 hour. Drive away from my home, so it was quite a trip to go there. Soggy as I was trying to pick them up. They were just falling apart, they were just Raw dough , and my husband was still upset that he didn't have any bacon. And I stopped the waitress and told her. And she brought him a plate with two super hard pieces of bacon on it. There were 2 tables that were near us that were completely covered in plates and food and things that had not been removed. And no one seemed like they were ever coming to clean those tables off. So that was quite unsightly to see when we were trying to enjoy our meal . We were not given any sort of silverware until I mentioned it to the waitress and she brought us plastic. Take out silverware explaining that the dishes had not been done.
