Let’s talk about Chicken Shawarma Pizza—but not just any shawarma pizza. I’m talking about the real deal, the kind of fusion masterpiece that makes you stop mid-bite and appreciate the culinary gods above. This is a review not just of a pizza, but of a cultural crossover that hits every note with perfection.
From the first moment you open the box, the aroma hits you—warm, roasted garlic, the tang of creamy toum, hints of smoky grilled chicken, and—wait for it—pickles. Yes, pickles. If you know, you know.
This isn’t your average pizza. There’s no marinara. No mozzarella overload. What you’re getting is tender marinated chicken shawarma, thinly sliced, perfectly spiced, and grilled with that charred edge you typically only get on a vertical spit in a Dearborn shawarma shop.
The base? Garlic sauce. Not just drizzled. Slathered. It acts as both flavor bomb and creamy glue holding this magnificent creation together. The cheese is strategic—just enough to balance the acidity of the briney pickles laid out across the surface like bright green exclamation marks. The crust? Slightly crisp, chewy in the right places, and strong enough to hold all that juicy glory without flopping.
This is shawarma, yes, but reimagined in a way that actually works as pizza—not a novelty, but a revelation.
You can trace this idea straight back to Dearborn, Michigan, arguably the shawarma capital of America, and home to one of the largest Arab-American populations in the country. That’s where the chicken shawarma sandwich was perfected—wrapped in warm pita, drenched in garlic sauce, with pickles for that signature zip.
But transforming that combo into a pizza? That’s next-level innovation.
Only a few spots have dared to do it, and even fewer have nailed it. It’s still shockingly rare to find chicken shawarma pizza on menus, even in areas where shawarma itself is everywhere. That makes this pie all the more special.
Now here’s where it gets even better: this gem is available for delivery from Hamtramck, another metro Detroit enclave with deep Muslim and immigrant roots. That means if you’re lucky enough to be in nearby suburbs—Ferndale, Hazel Park, Eastpointe, the Pointes, St. Clair Shores, Warren, or even parts of Midtown—you can get this halal-certified, shawarma-infused, garlic-drenched treasure delivered right to your door.
It’s a rare, beautiful thing when a dish this good, this niche, this rooted in culture and flavor, is also convenient.
This pizza isn’t just food—it’s a story. A delicious, garlic-forward, pickle-punctuated journey from the bustling shawarma counters of Dearborn to the creative kitchens of Hamtramck pizzerias that dare to be different.
If you’re craving something bold, authentic, and unapologetically flavorful, this is the pizza to order. And once you try it, don’t be surprised if you never want to go back to boring old pepperoni again.
Pro Tip: Ask for extra garlic sauce on the side. You’ll...
Read moreI just called to place a order on a Saturday night and was told at 8:40pm they are to busy to deliever and they stop delivering at 9pm. To me that means you can call before 9 and they should deliver regardless if they are to busy or not. I just never had a pizza place tell me that before to me thats bad business and bad costumer service. I noticed Door Dash on there site on google so I asked the guy about that and said If I call door dash to get it delivered do you know how that works. I never used them and he said we are busy so we wouldn't be able to take your order. And I just said bye. To busy to deliever to busy to take or make a order on a Saturday give me a break. Its the Weekend what business ain't going to be prepared for it being busy! If I was a new costumer I would not be calling back for there business why should I if they dont care about costumers and I have ordered from them a few times since I moved here a couple months ago so now I will not be ordering anymore more from there. I will just be going to Amicci's pizza or New york or Amar any local pizza business but this place. I like to give my money to small businesses that appreiciate your business and help keep the small businesses open and going in city's like Hamtramck! Al-Qamar Shame on You! P.s Get better pictures of your Menu and let people know what time Delieveries Start and End... And warn them when its busy you dont deliever or take orders!! Honesty is the...
Read moreI called Al Qamar and placed a SIMPLE small cheese pizza order and whoever the incompetent person was that took the call didn't even bother to write it down. My husband went to go pick and up and the guy blatantly lied and said no called and placed a order for such a pizza! My husband calls me and tells me this and I called the store and told the same thing to one of the workers. Again he stuck to his story that no one called, so obviously the person who i had a conversation with for 16 seconds didn't exist.
The guy continued to keep up with the lie and then i told him if you guys forgot then just OWN UP TO IT. Don't lie to save face. If your staff does not know how to write down orders then maybe you should think about hiring new staff. The guy on the phone decided to tell me, "well i'm making one now what else do you want me to do". How about BE HONEST and apologize for calling me a liar. They rushed to make another pizza and didn't even do it right to make up for their mistake. Didn't even finish cutting the darn thing. And threw all the cheese around the pizza spilling all over the sides. Such a disappointment. I've never had a problem there before and to have such crappy customer service. Really?
Piece of advice for future customers ASK FOR THEIR NAME WHEN YOU MAKE AN ORDER and HAVE THEM REPEAT IT BACK TO YOU incase they make you seem like a liar. Get your staff together and own up to...
