Albasha subs — Restaurant in Hamtramck

I eat all through Hamtramck for lunch. I saw good reviews for this company and it can't be for the Hamtramck location. Ain't no WAY. 1st placed the order online and sent payment through. I didn't get a confirmation message, so I called. The guy who answered told me this isn't a restaurant. I was almost there so I continued on. Parking is on street in front only. So, if you're coming from the east you have to drive up and turn around.The universe was telling me don't go here. I should've followed my first mind. The place needs to be cleaned. I re-did the online order because they said it didn't go thru. We got a couple of salads with chicken and a hummus. He asked what dressing and charged me extra for choosing ranch. The lettuce was brownish on the bottom part of the salad, which is unacceptable for a 13.00 salad, or any salad really. The Greek salad was no beets, sliced canned black olives, tomatoes, a teaspoon of feta and I don't know what kind of dressing. House salad, same. The hummus !!!! I've never had bad hummus before today!! It was not good and the spice and oils on top made it worse. The two things I saw that were ok was, they packaged the hot chicken separately from the salad. The bread was fresh. I didn't even say anything to my co- worker about my opinion, but after lunch, she cussed me clean TF out for this meal. The Hamtramck spot is awful.... And expensive. 34.00 for 2 salads, hummus and water. I don't recommend this restaurant at all. There's a lot of better...

Detroit is not exactly a hot bed of Late Night food spots (besides Coneys) so I was very happy to find Albasha. I stay up late and it’s been a reliable option when you don’t feel like chili fries for the 100th time.

Their Chicken Shwarma is really good and they customize it for you. I love a lot of garlic and super toasted, and that always gets done. I also get their Fatoosh Salad when I want something a little lighter and it’s really good, especially the chicken quality.

The area around the shop is quite safe, and when you walk in everyone in the shop is incredibly pleasant and accommodating. At 1 AM, I’m not really in the mood to have to earn the respect of the counter person, and you’ll never have any issues here.

I was very disappointed with the “chicken shawarma pitas” they looked more like burritos from Taco Bell, just not as big as Taco Bell’s . I will continue to go to the competition for real, full shawarmas. This was my first time ordering from this joint and my last. Plus, the delivery driver (with his fake name) stole my 2 small fries and 2 onion rings or I didn’t get them at all. Be very careful of who is picking up orders from your store. Horrible experience.
