After an adventurous evening of exploring the city, Reonna suggested we treat ourselves to something sweet. Initially, we considered our go-to donut shop, but Jon took the initiative to search for cheesecake options and discovered Dairy Fairies Cafe in Hamtramck, known for its cheesecake and late-night hours. Despite the street being closed due to construction, we navigated through an alternate route, parked nearby, and made our way to the cafe on foot.
Upon entering, we were immediately captivated by the cafe's trendy decor and vibrant atmosphere. The logo was stylish, and the whimsical fairies adorning the walls, along with the ropes and faux vines draping from the ceiling, created a lively and inviting space. The cafe was spacious and impeccably clean; even the bathroom exuded a fresh scent, which added to the overall pleasant experience. However, the decor was merely a backdrop to our main objective: indulging in some delightful treats.
Dairy Fairies Café offered an enticing selection of desserts, making it difficult to choose just one. My daughter, unable to resist the temptation, decided to sample several items, while Jon and I opted for a more restrained approach with one or two selections each. She started with a lotus Biscoff cake that was a delightful explosion of flavors, followed by perfectly fried waffle sticks that struck an ideal balance between crispiness and warmth.
Her indulgence continued with a s’mores treat and a strawberry shortcake, while Jon savored a strawberry shortcake waffle stick paired with a peanut butter milkshake that he declared one of the best he had ever tasted. I chose a simple cup of coffee complemented by a Nutella waffle stick, which was nothing short of extraordinary.
Although the service was a bit slow, and I had to remind them about my coffee at the end, the two younger staff members were incredibly friendly, always smiling and engaging in cheerful conversation. I appreciated their efforts, especially since they were managing the busy cafe on their own. Despite a sudden rush of customers during our visit, the overall experience was delightful, leaving us with sweet...
Read moreI give fair reviews. Sunday, 10/12/25, My best friend, son, and I came here after our day of fun and wanted to end the day with a nice treatt. We looked them up on Google,, and came from one side of town to that side of town, to try their treats. When we came in, there was a customer at the counter being served. The vibe was a little off, but we didn't think anything was wrong. We were looking at the menu and waiting for our turn to order, but after helping that last customer, the attendant left the register, and went to the back kitchen, didn't even greet us or acknowledge our presence. I didn't say anything because we were still deciding; however, after about 3 minutes, the cashier still had not returned, nor acknowledged our presence! However, my son noticed the attendants in the kitchen giggling amongst themselves and looking strangely at us. My friend became annoyed wondering why they were just standing in the kitchen staring. We came closer to the register and finally the cashier returned. My best friend was so upset that she just got a small dessert and hurried to pay for her order. I also ordered myself and my son a small dessert and paid. I noticed while paying, a group of ladies were sitting at a far table whispering and pointing at us and giggling. Upon leaving they were still doing that. We didn't do anything to deserve that. What was so funny idk. But we all agreed we will NEVER return and we will tell everyone else we know how rude...

Over 27 years ago my family moved from NYC to this little town of Hamtramck. It was a community of all of us immigrants who managed to build a little pocket of our motherlands confined in a 2 square mile radius. Most of our parents were struggling to make ends meet, and being able to eat out (let alone have a place to hang out and chill) was unheard of back then.
To come back to Hamtramck and see a place like this being opened for the community, by the people of community, makes my heart swell SO much. Because everyone deserves a slice of luxury every now and again.
The place is decorated minimally, but I found it tasteful. I had the pleasure of speaking to Mahmoud the owner, and you can see from the light in his eyes that he opened it with a heart full of hope and a dream of serving the community something they have never had before.
The menu is a delight, and I disagree with what one comment said about the portions being tiny. They are priced pretty comparatively to what many other shops charge for their portions. At the end of the day, this is a small business.
The coffee was MAGNIFICENT so I will definitely be coming here to work all the way from Sterling Heights. I got the caramel latte with oatmilk and it was a dream. 10/10, and I do not say this lightly. If you like strong coffee, this is a must try.
This place is honestly a pocket of joy in Hamtramck and I cannot wait to see...
