The one on Michigan Ave is great, the one in Dix is perfect but the branch in Hamtramck needs to shut down. First day of eid (2 weeks ago) was a disaster, ordered five soup and he came back with cold four soup saying they ran out of it. Ordered salts and it came hot and sizzling as usual however no bread until 20 minutes later after asking for it like 5 times and it was burned. The food itself (haneeth) came too late and was NOT fully cooked with an Egyptian rice that was cold from the fridge, I made him take it back and decided to stop this madness and went to pay what I was served, the supervisor/ manager was there asking me to stay as he microwaved the rice... He acknowledged that the rice was from the fridge and not basmati, he as well acknowledged that the meat was not done. However he flipped, snapped and was loud when he realized that I will not eat this microwaved food. Three month ago I had an embarrassing similar situation when I invited friends there and they served us the wrong food twice. On Eid there was only one server who basically focused on all tables with (yemeni) clients and ignored us because we are not his people, one more problem I think was the presence of my wife with us on the table ... I think they are not used to that or they don't appreciate that. Bottom line go to McDonald's and not this restaurant even if you were invited there it needs to...
Read moreI recently visited Sheeba Restaurant in Hamtramck and had an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. From the moment I stepped inside, the warm, welcoming atmosphere set the stage for an unforgettable meal. The staff greeted me with genuine hospitality, making me feel right at home despite the bustling pace of the evening.
I started with a bowl of their rich, savory lentil broth—a perfect, comforting beginning that hinted at the quality to come. For my main course, I opted for the Chicken Haneeth, which was exceptionally tender and infused with a delightful blend of spices that perfectly captured the essence of authentic Yemeni cuisine. The accompanying flatbread was freshly baked and provided an ideal vehicle for every flavorful bite.
Every dish I tried showcased a meticulous attention to detail—from the well-balanced spices to the generous portions that left me both satisfied and eager for more. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty meal or just a taste of something new, Sheeba’s diverse menu and friendly service make it a standout spot in Hamtramck.
I highly recommend Sheeba Restaurant for anyone looking to experience true Middle Eastern culinary excellence. It’s a place where every meal feels like a celebration of flavor, and I’m already planning...
Read moreThe food was good but the overall experience was bad.
The order took very long. Our biggest gripe though was the quantity of the food. We ordered platter for 2 which is $25 yet quantity was really lacking. You should be getting a separate plate of rice in that amount yet the meat was laid on top of rice which was simply not enough. Also the quantity of meat is nothing to talk about either except for 2 shanks. So beware. If you are really hungry, that platter might only be enough for one person.
Despite having like 4 or 5 guys working in the kitchen they still seemed short staffed for some reason. The drinks took ages to come. We ordered fries for kids which didn't come with the food. We kept waiting until the two adults were done with the food and kids were still waiting and then guy comes and tells us I'm sorry but fries are not available. Totally not professional.
They are probably good enough as an eating place down the street but not worth driving...
