WAYNE BBQ — Restaurant in Hannibal

I used to love waynes, the food used to be amazing. I don't know what it's like anymore bc you can't catch em open.

I've driven past waynes bbq every day for 2 weeks, patiently waiting for them to be open. I tried to be understanding that they could be having supply chain issues and theres nothing that can be done about that. Today however, i entered the establishment at 4:10 hoping to wrap up a to go order and was turned away in the middle of trying to say hello. At an establishment with pre-prepared food, you would think simply placing it into a container would be well worth the higher than average pricetag per plate. Apparently not so. I've loved waynes, but now simply by principle of how inconvenient it is trying to spend my money there combined with being turned away money in hand. Ill never go back. It's been made clear my money has no value there, nor my patronage, so i'll keep it....

Wayne BBQ, where do I start. I had never been here before based on local recommendations my wife and I ordered a large order for a party, over the phone. The staff on the phone impressed my wife which is not an easy thing to do. I went to pick up the order the establishment was top notch and staff was amazing. A young man helped carry my order to my truck in the pouring rain... I thought he just worked there... He was the owner. He knew barbecue, I could tell. Our party was a bit and the food was amazing. I am from South Carolina, I've had barbeque from the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida you name it... This is great barbeque. I am so happy this is in our new home town. Glad to perpetuate the 5 star rating. On the world BBQ scale Wayne wouldn't make the 5 star cut due to fierce competition in a crowded space. With that said, Wayne tremendously exceeds expectations for Hannibal cuisine and in doing so gains the fifth star. I did the Covid dash but would have enjoyed dining in the small restaurant as it was impeccably clean, comfortable and the service was prompt and very courteous. The relatively large portion of peppered turkey breast and the balked beans are fantastic. The small baker was cooked to perfection. (I hate getting a powdery overcooked potato). Throw in some cornbread or a roll and you'll see more smiles. ...
