My friends and I were looking for a place to eat breakfast as we were beginning our much awaited roadtrip to Arlington. We had entered the International House of Pancakes and even signed up on the 15-20 waitlist but ultimately we decided to hop out of the iHop. We had given up all hopes as not everyone was on board with the countless suggestions thrown. We went over to Google as a last resource and we encountered this hidden gem only a mere 9 minutes away and something inside of me knew, I just knew this was THE place to go. We fired up the rental car and headed that way. As we arrived, we were greeted with a cozy atmosphere feeling like I was back home in Jalisco once again. The menu was limited but surprising and included powerhouses such as menudo, pozole, barbacoa, machado, chilaquiles, etc. We decided to order a little bit of everything: pozole, barbacoa, chilaquiles, papa asada and enchiladas, a good mix. There are no words to describe how exquisite our meals were but I will give it a try. Our meals felt like the first time you kiss your crush after a date, like winning the lottery after being down on your luck. It was simply perfect. For what we got, the prices were impressive as well. $10 for FOUR, yes FOUR, soft and non fatty tacos & a big bowl of pozole. $2.50 for a sweet natural cucumber lime water. Please do not underestimate this precious place and give it a shot. I promise, no I can assure you, you won’t...
Read moreAfter vacation at SPI, we stopped by this quiet town on Sunday on the way home. To everyone's surprise, it was a such a great choice to have lunch there. Adults ordered the steak taco and menudo. Kids picked fajita quesadilla and bacon breakfast taco. Beef was cooked perfectly. The taco and quesadilla plate were loaded with many side dishes. Menudo was slightly salty but the fresh cooked tortillas was the best to pair with. Pico de gallo was fresh and beans had rich flavor. The kids finished their food even the breakfast taco looked like a huge burrito. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. We finally ordered one pound of baracoa to go because of the homemade tortilla, spicy sausa and wonderful authentic...
Read moreFirst time visiting but wont be our last! I ordered the nopales and egg taco with 2 jalapeño poppers and my mom ordered the hamburguesa mexicana. During our wait we were offered oatmeal and cinnamon to top it which was sweet and comforting. Lupita was so friendly and welcoming to everyone who walked in. She took the time to talk to us and answer any questions we had. The agua fresca de pepino y limon was amazing, super refreshing. Loved the decor and Vicente Fernandez was playing in the background the whole time. It felt like visiting the home of a family member, really great local...
