Girl Of All Trades — Restaurant in Harlingen

I found this place by accident when we were visiting my father in law four weeks ago. I was actually getting coffee from the largest overrated coffeehouse chain in the world. I was driving back to my father in laws with my frozen coffee instantly regretting my decision to go there. That's when I drove past G.O.A.T and saw COFFEE. 👀 I literally went back around stopped and pulled into a parking spot. I had already spent $16 at the largest coffeehouse chain in the world so I didn't want to spend more. I sucked it up and drank the world's nastiest mocha Frappe with Carmel & Carmel drizzle. (My absolute favorite drink) The next day I was determined to stop at G.O.A.T and check this place out. I wanted to test the waters so my husband and I ordered the Iced Caramel Macchiato, a lemon blueberry scone and a pecan bar (by the way I highly recommend). My goodness!!!! It was delicious. It was coffee with added sweetness not sweetness with a dash of coffee. I was hooked. I couldn't wait to go back. We came back again on the 10th to visit my father in law again. This time our weekend visit turned into a week long visit. My father in law went to heaven and we stayed to take care of all arrangements. However through it all G.O.A.T helped me get through it all. This time around we ordered my fave Mocha Frappe with added Carmel and Carmel drizzle just about every day during our visit. I will miss it but will definitely be stopping in when we visit again. Two major things that make a coffee shop, coffee and studying (which nowadays requires internet). There coffee is good little hard to see considering the menu is at the front in small font so I haven't tried anything new so I don't hold up the line. Biggest problem I have is there internet, in the middle of the store I was told I might be to far away from the router, also was told there might be to many people on the internet(even though there were only six customers In the store Including myself) I try to study here every week and I at least spend $15 every time I come if not more. It's a great little shop but as far as studying I would say it's not reliable at all and this is after almost a year of studying here. Hopefully they fix the internet, which is a simple fix, for now I have to go somewhere that has reliable internet. I'll come back in a month or two and see if it's better. I understand that this place is a business and needs to make money to survive, but it gets to a point where it's abusive and doesn't make you feel wanted unless you purchase things. There is a sign in the restroom that says "you don't pee for free" don't know if they wanted to sound cute by making it rhyme but that's messed up. Me and my finance went to purchase coffee and she has a repeater drinker card (they stamp it every visit) I invited her the coffee and she provided the stamp card to them. I gave my debit card to the girl and she said that she couldn't stamp it because she is not paying which is ridiculous because we have joint bank accounts. So I just gifted her 20 dollars to pay for our drinks so we could get the stamp. This place doesn't make you feel wanted unfortunately there are no good coffee shops in the valley.
