Manager very unprofessional. He was too busy making margaritas instead of managing the restaurant.
We went on December 21 2022 at about 7 pm. As we went in we saw the board with the specials. We asked the waitress what the specials were again. She said it was carne guisada with nachos for $9 and it comes with tea. My wife and i both got that. We got our meal and ate.
The waitress charged us on her keypad. I asked to see the receipt. She said she could print it out after i paid. The receipt showed $10 for my wife's meal, she got no beans and double rice. Mine was $9. And they also charged us $2.99 for each tea. I asked waitress why my wife's was 10 and mine was 9. And about the teas. She went to Manager and he told her it was lunch special that's why one was 9 and other 10.
I asked to speak to Manager and she said he was busy making margaritas. He didn't come to our table, i had to go over to him. Then he said hold on a minute. When he came back he said same thing, it was lunch special. Then he angrily said, "what do you want me to do, give your dollar back?"
I said also the teas were also supposed to be free. And then i showed him a picture of the specials. He cussed and went to the order computer and kicked the chair near there. Then he went to front and looked at specials board. Then he went to waitress and said something to her that it was only a $1. He never came back to us and continued making margaritas. The waitress gave us $8 back. I don't believe the Manager ever gave her the money. I think she took it out of her own pocket. I gave back the money to her. She continued to apologize, but i told her it wasn't her fault. Never heard anything from manager, who i believe was...
Read moreUpdate 7/21/22 I am back in Harlingen and have been here twice now with my family and I can't believe how good the food is, it hasn't changed! I ordered the Mexican Supreme (I think) and it is a great combination of the different foods they serve. The fajita meat is very flavorful and TENDER. Los Asados is always so flavorful has great service. I love the fact that restaurants like these STAY OPEN. I will gladly come back next year when we are on vacation again. I LOVE LOS ASADOS!
06/2022 Wow. The food here is amazing. I am only saddened by the fact that I literally left Harlingen the very next day. Had I known about this restaurant before we left, I would have stopped in many more times. I decided to take my family (parents, kids, aunt) out to dinner as it was our last night in Harlingen. Several places were closed so we kind of stumbled upon Los Asados. The food was very delicious, the music was spot on (I knew most of the songs playing overhead, but not obnoxiously loud) and the service was amazing. Our server Gonzalo (I think) was very attentive to our table. He made sure our drinks were refilled and that we had everything that we needed. The food was so good. It was flavorful and a good portion size. I had the fajita taco with chicken and beef, enchiladas and tostada (also called a chalupa) rice and beans. The food was amazing and our waiter was nice and very attentive. I will have to wait a year to go back, but this resturant is definately on the top of my list. Can't...
Read moreWorst experience ever! I went there for mother’s day and we waited almost 30min for someone to take our drink order. We ordered our food including an appetizer. They brought over chips with the most terrible salsa ( pink mushed tomatoes) no plates, no napkins. When our food came they brought our appetizer with our meals. My daughter got the quesadillas which had non melted cheese, it was still shredded inside straight from the bag. My husband got the shrimp and he took one bite and stopped. The oil was so old that the shrimp tasted rancid. I asked for refried beans, they gave me charro beans. Our meals came with tortillas, we had to ask for them. My husband asked for iced tea he got a Pepsi instead. We already had our plates and we had to eat with our fingers because we still didn’t have utensils or napkins. When we asked for utensils they didn’t bring knives so I had to tear up my fajita with my fork and fingers. Meanwhile there was at least 5 flies landing on our food and the wall at our booth. My husband had to make a taco from my daughters plate for himself because the shrimp was inedible.I saw at least 2 people behind the counter where the kitchen is with their masks down around there chins. We are VERY kind polite diners and didn’t make any complaints and still tipped our waitress. But when we left we could not stop thinking about what a bad experience it was and especially on Mother’s Day :( first and last time we will be...
