We had a group of 14 women to go to Cork & Fork for dinner and drinks before a show at Midtown Cinema. It was a Monday night, so we didn't think much about reservations - possibly our mistake....
2 of our guests arrived at around 6:00pm and asked for a table to be reserved for a large group. There were at least 3 empty table on the first floor and they were told that two of the tables were reserved. They wanted to put us upstairs but then it got too full up there and no tables were available in that section. So, as people started to filter in at 6:30pm and later, we all stood around the bar area and that ONE table while the other two tables sat empty. We felt that the hostess and waitstaff were purposely using the route between the bar and the first row of tables where we were all congregated instead of using the almost always clear second isle way between the first and second row of tables. It was getting rather annoying for multiple people. We again asked about the two empty tables and were told they were reserved.
At around 7:25, the tables were MAGICALLY free due to 2 no shows - (really.... 2???) and we were told that the staff really did not want us standing around and they were asking us to sit down at the tables. There were still not enough chairs for all people in our party, so about 3 of us stood and talked to the 4 women in our group who were seated at the bar. This STILL seemed an inconvenience!!
We left at 8:00pm after spending over $400 on drinks and food. Not one time was there ANYONE waiting to be seated. We were dressed properly for the venue. We may have been a bit loud.
WE FELT SNUBBED - ALL OF US.
This venue was picked because of the atmosphere, and food and drink options - basically the CLASS of the establishment. There was no class shown to us last night.
HOWEVER- the food was delicious, the bartender with the tattoos and glasses was exceptional and had good input.
I MAY try this again in the future, but overall am not a...
Read moreMy wife and I heard some good things about this place from some of her co-workers and we decided to have a little date night in Harrisburg. The indoor seating was spaced out appropriately with some outdoor seating available if you have concerns about eating indoors. With upstairs and downstairs seating, there are plenty of areas to sit throughout the restaurant.
Pricing: It's average to slightly higher than average considering most of the plates are smaller and tapa style Food: We got the scallops risotto, sauteed octopus, oven roasted brussels sprouts, and the pear pizza. My favorites were by far the scallops risotto and pear pizza. The risotto was creamy and soft with the scallops grilled to perfection. The pear pizza had very crispy prosciutto accompanied by a nice, sweet, and juicy kick to it with the pears and honey white balsamic dressing. The sauteed octopus was the perfect, chewy texture with a nice grilled taste to it. The brussels sprouts had the appropriate texture and taste for it being oven roasted, but nothing about it took it over the top (I personally think fried brussels sprouts have a better taste and texture) Service: Our service was great! Our waitress made sure that our date night was amazing. She made sure everything was to our liking and that we had enough drinks throughout the night Overall: It was a great experience and would recommend for everyone nearby to come to eat here. My wife and I had a great experience. The food was great, the service was top notch, all for...
Read moreThis might have been the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Walked in to only a couple tables seated outside and a couple outside but were told they were on a 20 minute wait. We decided to sit at the bar and order a drink but weren’t even greeted or given a menu I had to ask for one. By time time we got our drinks the 20 minutes was up and we still hadn’t gotten a text that our table was ready. I saw multiple couples get sat while we were waiting and there was only 2 of us as well. When we said something to the manager and asked why we hadn’t been seated yet she said we needed to close our tab at the bar before we were seated and which we didn’t obviously would have done we were waiting for a table first?? She then said that the reason multiple people were seated before us is because they were no longer on a wait. If they were no longer on a wait then why weren’t we ever seated?! And he manager was extremely rude and condescending and I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for years and have never experienced such unprofessionalism. I left after I finished my drink and said I no longer wanted a table and wanted to leave. Even the other employees were apologizing for how I was being treated. I can’t believe that is how this restaurant is being “managed” because that was not a manager. This company will be hearing from me again because the manager way I was treated was...
