I stopped by Yellow Bird Café for breakfast, and I’m so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, the warm, welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff was friendly and attentive, making great recommendations.
Now, let’s talk about the food—the baked oatmeal is absolutely amazing! It was perfectly warm, hearty, and flavorful, with just the right balance of sweetness and texture. You can tell they use high-quality, fresh ingredients in everything they make. Pairing it with a great cup of chocolate truffle coffee made for the perfect start to my day.
The café itself is cozy and inviting, with a charming vibe that makes it a great spot to relax, read, or catch up with friends. Harry Connick Jr was playing on the radio!! If you’re in Harrisburg, do yourself a favor and stop by Yellow Bird Café—it’s a must-visit! I’ll definitely be back!

Read moreI’ve been to Yellow bird a few times for breakfast. Super friendly environment, my kids love to play battleship while enjoying their delicious pastries; but today solidified my appreciation for this amazing establishment. I called in this morning hoping to snag a few loaves of bread because I am a procrastinator and I signed up to bring bread to our thanksgiving family gathering (can’t cook/bake). I was told they could make a few loaves fresh if I picked up end of day. They called me just like they said they would, and they let us pick up after hours, all for a ten dollar purchase. I am a very loyal customer when treated right but when a business goes above and beyond, they have me and my entire families business for life, and I will tell ANYONE willing to listen how amazing Yellowbird is! P.S I couldn’t help it and cut a slice to try (ok maybe two) and my gosh, this is legit the best bread...
Read moreI regrettably almost didn't come because the menu looked a little boring online. The food and pastries are all definitely great quality (and I believe homemade)!
We had the BLT gone wild, mushroom barley soup, a breakfast sandwich, and a curried chicken salad sandwich, and molasses/ginger cookie, which each had small touches (homemade pan bread, fresh grapes in curry chicken salad, etc.) which stood out nicely. Even the bag of chips that came on the side were local and extra tasty!
The dining room is cozy and congenial, with a variety of board games available.
I wish I lived in the area so I could spend some time here...
