I utilized Harrisburg Improv Theatre's corporate workshop offering at a training conference for regulatory professionals.
This session was, by far, the most engaging offering that I experienced throughout the conference. We have all sat through 2 hours of very important PowerPoint slides being presented to us at a mind-numbing pace. What we rarely experience is the ability to develop easily implementable skills related to communication, teamwork, collaboration, and work culture in a fast-paced, fun, invigorating, and sometimes hilarious 90-minute session that's all about learning to say, "Yes! And..."

Read moreI love this place. Come alone or with friends and you will always be welcomed. As a newcomer to the theater, I feel like I already have a safe (3rd) space to hang out and make new friends. The shows are always good, and the talents vary greatly from regular long form improv, to musical improv, sketch shows, some short form here and there, and plenty more coming from different improv troupes in the area.
Currently in the level one improv class and Im having the time of my life! If you’re interested, but may not be able to afford the tuition, they offer some type of program so you can still participate, as long as you put in some work on the weekends. Which means, free shows! It’s a smaller venue so it’s pretty chill. I can’t recommend this...
Read moreComedy is hard but overall it’s a good place to go. I actually liked the first group of graduating Improv students the best when I went. Then the third group Campfire has something good goin. But the Sunday School wasn’t my thing but live performance is hard so hey. But yeah that’s just my review you might like them in a different order.
In any case be prepared to interact. Come with places and scenarios and relationships for the improv actors and you’ll have a good time. If you give bad scenarios then… it makes the comedy more difficult. But if you give good scenarios you can see some great comedy.
So yeah keep that in mind if you want a great show your contribution...
