Back's Delicatessen & Drive — Restaurant in Harrison Township

If you have to go to Back's I would strongly suggest going through the drive-thru. The guys that work it are extremely friendly and accommodating despite having to stand out in the freezing cold or blistering heat while breathing in car fumes.

The inside on the other hand is a completely different story. The three or four middle-aged women who have worked the inside for better part of what seems like two decades could not be less Friendly. Back's is a great little locally owned and operated liquor store and deli, which also has a drive through. Located on the corner of Harrison Avenue, Stone Drive, and New Haven Road, it is easily accessible from two streets. They have a great selection of beer, wine, and liquor. You can also do some light grocery shopping while you're in there. The staff inside are very friendly and know most of the regular customers by name. Employees wear masks but with mouth and/or nose frequently exposed. When asked why they let customers in without a mask and don't even say a word about it their answer is "we are not the mask police." Its interesting because they are the no shirt no shoes police, age requirement for merchandise police, and no shoplifting police but when it comes to a global pandemic and national emergency of course not.
