Why I gave only 2 stars will be summarized at the end.
Atmosphere: friendly staff, nice furnishings, clean environment. Thumbs up.
Service: top notch 5 stars - our server was quick, friendly, attentive and very pleasant. She earned ever bit of the 30% tip i left. Having worked in a restaurant for many years i appreciate when someone puts in the effort.
Food: par for the course for a neighborhood restaurant. I had the Boss Hog and my lady had The Westsider. No complaints, both were pretty good.
Overall: I consider 3 stars an average rating, 4 stars means something was really special and 5 stars as a best-possible, top of the list experience. Chandler's would have been a 4 star rating based on the fantastic server we had. Sadly this was diminished because the gift card we had apparently only is accepted at their other location. This makes zero sense, but I'm not one to argue about the little things in life and certainly not with a server who has no power to change policy.
Final thoughts: I'm not local to the area either restaurant is located so it's a bit of a drive for me either way (45 miles round trip). I was not "wow'd" to the point I'd make the trip a 2nd time to see if the other location would take the gift card - and so this makes it essentially worthless to me. The sad thing is, nowhere on the gift card or its packaging did it spell out they were specific to one location over another. Maybe it's because this is a newer location? Who knows? The server did mention it wasn't the first time this has happened, so I consider this a KNOWN problem with NO policy solution until its fixed. That is a glaring issue that needs to be addressed.
Hopefully Chandler's Burger Bistro management straightens out this issue for future customers, but I won't be back...
Read moreOut of the 3x I’ve been to the establishment I’ve been treated poorly by the same woman bartender & ironically never get her name. This past visit has sealed the deal for me. We were seated in the back corner of the bar and after waiting awhile and nobody coming to help we had to ask the greeter for a server. When the bartender who was also our server came over she didn’t introduce herself and wasn’t friendly at all just wanted to quickly get our drinks out of the way. My child has food allergies and We were there for a family members birthday and since I could not find an allergy menu online I brought my child’s food just to be safe. Because who thinks that would be a problem I’m sure parents bring baby food in all the time. When she came back with our drinks she rudely let us know that “he doesn’t allow outside food here” to which we responded my child has food allergy’s “it doesn’t matter he doesn’t allow outside food here” so I proceeded to ask for an allergy menu to which I was told they do not do allergy menus. Never an apology or showing compassion just straight rude and to the point. Never even asked about the allergies to maybe see if there is any safe food just RUDE. And the rest of the visit was awful she was not friendly the rest of the visit at all it was like she had a problem from the start. Read moreFood was great. Service from server was good. Service from the restaurant itself not so much. I ordered smoked wings which were phenomenal. Wife ordered pulled pork sandwich. We requested a tortilla shell instead of a bun and was told that the kitchen doesn't and won't make exceptions. When her food was brought out, it was literally a big ice cream scoop of meat. Absolutely zero reason the kitchen couldn't put her food on a tortilla. After dinner was over I asked for a manager and her response was identical to the server. She apologized for the kitchen and told us to ask for a tortilla on the side and we can make our own wrap. She wasn't rude about it, but was serious that the kitchen wouldn't accommodate any requests. This is absolutely poor customer service for such a easy request. I hope that the owner sees this and can hopefully make what I feel is a easy adjustment. Our experience would've been absolutely perfect had this simple request been taken care of.
