There are no Colton's in our home state. When in Missouri, we decided to try the one there. The food and drinks were good, the service was excellent and we felt very comfortable. On the next leg of our journey, we stopped in Harrison, AR, thinking this link in the Colton chain would be good as well. We were mistaken. While the 2 of us received 5 hot, soft rolls with honey butter at the Rolla, MO Colton, we received 2 tiny and 2 regular hard, barely warm rolls here - and had to ask for butter and wait a long time for it even then. The drinks at the Missouri Colton's were filled to the brim - and in large glasses. The ones at the Harrison restaurant were in glasses about half the size (which were not filled up) and watered down. Hubs asked for hamburger steak, which came with onion rings on top, and french fries. He had to ask for catsup and again wait a long time to get it. The place was not crowded at all (we suspect we now know why). I ordered the "Texas salad" which was supposed to have bacon on it but was served with warmed Bacos instead. As our drinks were so small, we ordered another set. My second martini glass had the price tag unwrinkled and still glued to the bottom and the print was the original dark color it would be in the store, indicating it had never been washed. When I mentioned that to the waitress, she asked if i'd like to speak to the manager. He actually denied it had not been washed, saying it had never been used but was washed nevertheless once weekly. He then said they wash all the glasses nightly. I was appalled to he would try to cover up the situation so blatantly but didn't argue the point, at this point just wanting to leave. After waiting another long time for the check, we were glad to get out of there. The meal and our evening was ruined by this restaurant trying to save every penny at the expense of people who are the reason for...
Read moreWe were seated quickly and placed our order. Forty five minutes later we still had no food except the salad. I had to ask 3 different people why it was taking so long to get my medium well ribeye and my husband's Hawaiian chicken. On the 3rd inquiry i asked to see the manager....he still wouldnt come out to talk to me so we told our server we were leaving. She said, "Give me 2 minutes and I'll have your food out. About 5 minutes later she brought the food. My steak may have been an 8oz steak at best and was so well done it was crispy...and tough. My husband's chicken was very small and wasnt fully cooked. We took 1 bite and again we asked for the manager. He still didnt come to talk to us. Instead he sent our server out with a bill charging us for the salad we had eaten almost an hour before. This time my husband DEMANDED the manager handle this personally. Rather than an apology and an immediate offer to cancel the entire bill he was complaining that they were at full capacity, the takeout was extremely busy, and they were short staffed. My husband said, "I cant believe you'd even think to try and charge us anything after all of this" to which the manager responded, "Well your server said you'd probably be willing to pay for the salad." Really?? I mean REALLY??
Okay, Im sorry they were having a bad evening...but not sorry enough to be charged for any portion of a meal we didnt even eat.
And I'm really sorry this incident was so horrible as we usually enjoy Coltons. But this was bad enough that we most likely wont take a chance on an experience like this again. Our funds are limited for dining out, and the competition is fierce. Im not going to waste my time or money where the experience was horrible and management that...
Read moreTbh, I was really disappointed. Colton's is my favorite steakhouse! But, on my way to Arkansas from Missouri I stopped at this one. My dad had a stroke and I was goin to go visit him. Whom has Since passed away. Well i offered to stop in with my Gf. Take her to one of my favorite steak houses. So I ordered a steak meal and she ordered a catfish dinner. Mine was ok. It was cooked proper and all. however, when she gave my girlfriend hers she and I both noticed how over cooked her fish was! It was tough and was very small pieces. The hush puppies pretty much burnt as well! She didnt want it and it wasnt a quality meal!! It was slow other than the call ins, tht was goin on. I could see because I was right by the door. My waitress wasnt busy but was less than helpful. She didnt take care of at all! When I mentioned somthn about it (the fish) she said awww and tht was it! We asked for a to go box. She (my girlfriend) didnt want to press the issue so she left hungry! Putting the dinner in a to go box for our dogs. Since we weren't offered something and paid for it. Needless to say, I probably wont be goin there again and probably wont get to go myself, to another cottons because of the raw experience we had tht day. I went ahead and gave the waitress a 2 dollar tip as a joke. Because she didnt earn it and would have gave her a decent tip if she had just acted a little more concerned about serving us. She didnt fill our glasses. She nvr asked me how my steak was! I had to get her attention to get her to come to the table. Like I said very disappointed! All around bad experience! Specially for my girlfriend whom I had convinced it would be a delightful...
