It is with a heavy heart that I write this post to inform everyone that owner/operator Alex Robert Moore, AKA “The Donut Man”, died suddenly at his home surrounded by his family on the evening of December 27, 2021. Because of this, Daylight Donuts at 1624 N Main St., Harrison, Arkansas 72601 is permanently closed. Alex loved the Harrison community and it was his pleasure to meet and server everyone that came into Daylight Donuts. As a transplant, originally from a small town in Nebraska. I was SO excited when I saw Daylight Donuts. The Daylight in Elkhorn closed while I was in the military and to be honest nothing quite compared to that perfect glazed from Daylight. My daughter and I popped in to try a few donuts and I found myself cautiously optimistic. One bite and it was like being teleported back to high school. Amazing products and fresh as is possible to be(as in still warm and superb tasting) very decent selection given the extremely small space this establishment has. As a Crohn’s sufferer I cannot eat sweets unless I am prepared for pain but I bring my kids here offen and this never fails! EVER! I’ll post photos next visit cause this is beauty in the rawest form!
