There was a time where the things at Gio were great. Now, not so much. It’s more about quantity than quality. Three times now I have purchased the “rosca” and it was raw. The worse of it is that they ignore your feedback 100%, like it doesn’t even matter. I hope this review opens their eyes to this issue, as the same issue happens often. Another “rosca” tasted like baking powder, it was horrible. Also, the brigadeiro from the display was hard and crusty, “cristalizado” as we say in Portuguese, which means that it is old and seating there for a while. Staffing at the store was not welcoming. I said hi and no reply, even the store owner siting there on his computer by the register ignored my greeting.

I want to thank Gio and Alex for helping me in my fiance today picking out our wedding cake. Alex very helpful in seeing my inspiration be played out in a cake that represented exactly what I wanted. I've never been to Brazilian bakery but I will tell you this much you will not be disappointed in the beautiful flavor of the cake and toppings. The shop itself was beautiful in all the decorations and displays of cakes and little touches glam and shabby chic design. When we talk about Brazilian pastry we already know that many ingredients comes out of USA so we know the price can be higher but it’s the only bakery at Ironbound that really have fair prices and great quality. You don’t get surprised with your bill and the owner is very kind when you make your special order in case you need help to figure it out your party she is the person to help you out. The “bolo gelado” is the best that I ever tried. This place is only for pick up and the store is unique with their decoration. They have respect for what they charge they customers.
