Updated review 11/29/24. It's unfortunate that I have to do this. I've been coming here for years. The food here use to be so good but I can't say the same anymore. I ordered the tomato soup,(which I order every time I go) there was absolutely no seasoning; bland. I ordered the multigatwany soup (which I order every time I go), there was rice in my soup and I don't eat rice. I ordered a side of chana masala (mild), a side of falafel, and a side of hummus. A side of falafel is suppose to come with 4-5 falafel and nothing else. They gave me 3 dried up over fried falafel with a bunch of pita bread. Worst falafel I've ever had and I don't eat pita bread. The chana masala was so spicy it was burning my tongue and lips, I could not eat it. I've even mixed in the no seasoned tomato soup and it was still too spicy. The hummus was so oily. I also ordered the onion salad, which pissed me off because it was sliced red onions with 3 chili peppers and 3 lemon slices which i could have done myself at home had i known. I've seen management and staff come and go since the lady manager who was amazing left. This is so disappointing because I use to come here so often even introduced a few friends to this spot but after this experience I think it's a wrap for this spot. My bill was around $60, I ordered 1 drink while waiting. Almost forgot, they did not have any of the drinks on the cocktails board menu on the wall; smdh. The bartender directed me to the 3 cocktails on the menu and I again the one I picked he didn't have the ingredients to make. This review hurt. I'm only giving 2 stars because the bartender was nice. ...and now my stomach hurts 😫 and only thing I could finish was the multigatwany soup. Changed to 1 star. ------- 2023: Have yet to have a complaint. Food and drinks are consistently good and the staff is friendly. Also, I'm always learning from them when they have time to converse... this time about the Indian sport kabaddi. Only reason I didn't give it 5-star is because we got skimped on the rice which bothered my friend more than me. $5 happy from 3-7p is great too.

Looking for a best authentic Indian restaurant in New Jersey (NJ). Well you’re looking at the right now. My friend and I visited to this place from multiple different city in NJ to try this place food. This places was suggested by one of my colleagues who live near by. First impressions of this place WOW 🤩 when we entered. We’ve visited many many Indian restaurant in New Jersey but this was totally different. The interior design of this place was URBAN. The food was Tandoor. I hope you got it. The mangers told us we’re are short of staff due the COVID 19. We respect that. #supportsmallbusinesses ✌🏼 manger was REALLY super friendly, he described all the dishes in detail. His management skill was out of the level. We saw the place was super busy with online order, pick up orders and In-person dining. He managed it really well. Food and Drink 5/5. Sorry I cant describe how good was the food. You have to go and try it. This was the best food I ever had in NJ. @LocalGoogleGuide and locals if you haven’t try this place yet GO AND TRY IT NOW, all their meats are HALAL. Honestly, this place deserves a best Indian restaurant or best authentic Indian food award in NJ.

Great experience! We were in the mood for some Indian food and we made the right decision. They have a wide selection, and you can adjust the intensity of spiciness. The food was served fresh and hot. They have a great cocktail menu too. Must try their tamarind magarita, cucumber breeze, the urban and the jal jeera cocktail. To end with I went with the rice pudding and it was really good. The staff is very helpful and attentive. The Restaurant has a great ambiance with a bar inside it. Our order : 1. Chicken soup ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ( must try this soup) 2. Chicken malai kebab ⭐️⭐️ 3. Chicken boneless curry spicy⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶(definitely recommend) 4. Dal makhani⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5. Garlic naan (not that good)⭐️ 6. Tandoori roti ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 7. Rice pudding (kheer)⭐️⭐️⭐️ 8. Ras malai (it was warm and not fresh)⭐️ 9. Chicken 65 (must must must try) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Experience the perfect dining experience at Urban Tandoor.

Hidden Away is one of my new favorite Tandoor Indian restaurants. I was in town for business and was pleasantly surprised to find this gem. This quaint little restaurant had a very inviting atmosphere with an extremely attentive host. Take your time to read through the entire menu they offer a very large selection and they have a full bar available as well. I chose for my first dish their Samosa Chat. An excellent dish for two, although I must admit I ate the entire portion myself as I dined alone. With my appetizer, I enjoyed a cocktail that was well-measured and quite to my satisfaction. For my main dish, I chose the Lamb Vindaloo with a side of garlic naan. The naan is my only criticism, I wanted more! The portion was a decent size for one but I had more Vinaloo to eat. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking an amazing Tandoori experience.

Urban Tandoor has become my new go-to spot for authentic Indian Food. Honestly speaking, I must say that the quality, service, and overall experience at the restaurant is truly sublime. Each one of their dishes is authentic and unique to a specific region in India, and it is constantly delivering the Best Food at the most affordable prices. When I searched up the best Indian Restaurants in NJ, I came across an article and it mentioned: “Even when comparing similar dishes across other NJ restaurants, the flavors at Urban Tandoor stand out.” At first I did not believe it, but after dining, I really understood what that meant. These guys don’t compromise on flavor, spices, or the authenticity of Indian Cuisine. If you’re looking for the best Indian Food in New Jersey, then you really don’t need to look much further than Urban Tandoor.

I came across this place when I was looking for an Indian restaurant to go to, this place (Was one of the first ones to come up as the best Indian restaurant in New Jersey,) so I went and checked it out. The place is really cool, It stands out with its ambience, And all the food tastes authentic, especially the chicken 65 biryani, and lamb chops. (All the reviews were saying that people come from across the state to get that). Drinks are also great, Couple friends and I got the Urban Negroni and Lychee Martini. Dessert is also good, but we had to get a couple as they are a bit small, they had Gulab Jamun and a Rasmalai Tres Leches that both tasted nice, and fitting because we were celebrating a birthday. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend visiting the restaurant.
